Amar'e bewildered, Knicks in crisis

What I'm wondering is why doesn't D'antoni or Walsh hire an assistant who is there to do nothing but defense. Similiar to how Doc Rivers had Tom Thibodeax install a defense which made guys like Allen and Pierce more responsible defenders. We all know the knicks don't have any premier defenders but when you look at the length and athleticsm on the roster you can see them with any kind of defensive coaching at all at least being a mediocre defensive team instead of a wet paper towel.

The truth is no point bashing on the Knicks when the team was constructed to not win. The team isn't any better from last year. The Knicks doesnt have a go to guy and still dont have a go to guy. The Knicks have a long ways to go before reaching the playoffs or even competing. Where is Gman talking about Antoni system is a proven system that wins championship??
