08:03 AM ET 11.17 | Will-he-won't-he headlines are generally reserved for Carmelo Anthony in Denver. Not anymore. George Karl held a candid talk with the media before Tuesday night's game about his health and how it would affect his future plans with the team. Specifically, he said though he doesn't want to, he's prepared to walk away from coaching if he deems it best for his long-term health. ... "There's no question that my butterflies and my bounce and my passion for the game has been rejuvenated by what I went through. But, you know, at the end of this year, my health is more important. I'll walk away from the game of basketball."

He's definitely healthy to coach given what he's been able to do with the Denver team this year. Walsh needs to do some backdoor recruiting and get him to the Knicks asap. Then we can guarantee Melo is coming along with JR and a salary dump. D'Antoni's is not a good coach. His philosophy of coaching and game plan is flawed and his arrogance of not communicating with the players is unacceptable... does it have to come down to fire D'Antoni chants? Dolan ya heard?

Sad, never a transcendent coach but always a good one, always knew how to maximize talent, very personable.

If he joined your team he pretty much guaranteed making the conference finals.

It's a shame to see cancer take away one of the only coaches that actually helps their team.

I loved his old Bucks and Supersonics squads. Those were some really enjoyable teams to watch and some of my first NBA memories.

Is not Karl also in the last year of his contact in Denver, too!.....I have said it before I say it again,...everyone in Denver could be GONE,...MELO, Nene ETO, Martin FA, J.R. Smith FA, even Harrington has a player option, to get out of town for next year...under contact for next year Lawson, Birdman, Balkman,....and Affalo is a RFA

Karl you want to live???? Stop coaching that mess in Denver...it will kill you...

You've done enough, Bro.

You are a complete fool. Better to die than coach a good NBA team, and be paid millions to do something you are great at? I am having a hard time saying this, but I agree with Lost and you look like a chump.

Melo leaving will be detrimental to his health and once Denver waives the rebuilding flag, Karl's out.
