08:45 AM ET 11.18 | Ruben Amaro Jr. has talked to Scott Boras, but he hasn't much to say beyond that. There have been reports that the Phillies are interested in Carlos Quentin, a power-hitting right fielder with the Chicago White Sox. If, as expected, Jayson Werth signs elsewhere, the Phillies will want to add a right-handed bat to their roster. There was also a Venezuelan-based report Wednesday that said free-agent outfielder Magglio Ordonez was headed to Philadelphia for a medical examination. "Unequivocally false," Amaro said. A deal for the 28-year-old Quentin would make more sense for the Phillies.

Carlos Quentin would be a monster in that little sandbox in Philly.

the field he already plays in is a less glorified sandbox. in fact, us cellular was the stadium where the most home runs where hit this past season i believe. but that may have to do more with white sox pitching, and maybe not so much with the dimensions.

Quentin is a very good hitter no doubt but his problem has always been staying healthy to play. Going back to his 2003 when he was drafted he had TJ surgery in 2003, and in all three season 07-09 he spent time on the DL for injuries to his foot, wrist shoulder etc. He guy is pretty inury prone.

They can have Quentin.

Quentin would not fit in in Philly, he is a intense leave me alone type of guy and the Phils are a happy go lucky bunch of wild dogs, they will hate Quentin

Unless you personally know the man, that is a stretch. Being intense on the field doesn't mean he isn't a good teammate.

i dont think it wouldnt be a bad fit, id blame his shy persona more on the white sox, not himself, i wouldnt be too happy a camper if i were working with carlos guillen.
