Turf toes getting worse, not better, for Best

08:05 AM ET 11.22 | Jahvid Best felt OK in warmups, but that didn't last long. The Lions have been coy about the health of Best's feet for the last six weeks. Sunday, their actions spoke louder than any words. Best, ailing from turf toe injuries on both feet, was unable to play anywhere near his capabilities against the Cowboys. He did not start and his playing time was limited. ... There was no burst of speed. He was unable to make quick cuts. It was painful to watch.

Even if Best was back at 100% for the game on Thankstaking day, it wouldn't matter. This game will be a blowout by the 2nd quarter, only intrigue will be can the Lions D line (which is the only aspect of the team that is good) get some pressure on Brady and maybe force some turnovers.

I give the kid a lot of credit - he played as hard as he could. But if the wheels aren't healthy, then it just doesn't work.

Turf toe...ouch...ended Jack Lambert's career.
