08:31 AM ET 11.22 | Might Brian Kelly lose another recruit? Justice Hayes, a running back from Grand Blanc, Mich., and a top 100 national prospect, has reopened his recruitment, according to his Twitter account @hotnewssoon. Hayes tweeted that Notre Dame, Tennessee and Michigan are now all in the mix. Should Hayes pledge elsewhere, he would be the fourth de-commitment from the Irish since mid-October. "Last weekend when I went to the [Notre Dame] game I was just uncomfortable with a couple of situations," Hayes told Rivals.com.

The Irish's luck hasn't been great of late.

Should have had him in the student section, instead of letting the priests near him!

Great job, Kelly. You're impressing the Irish fans more and more each week. Lose to teams you shouldn't? Check. Losing close games because horrid coaching mistakes? Check. Losing top recruits because of the atmosphere surrounding the team and the school? Check. He's already been worse than Weis. At least Charlie got the recruits to South Bend. He couldn't coach the team well, but they had the talent. Kelly is a bafoon.

Bafoon?

Why are you talking him up like that?

:)

Why would anyone go to ND these days to play football? Why is this story about an unranked team even here?

November 22, 2010  09:09 AM ET

This kid is coming to Michigan now, no doubt about it.

well.... if you are a premier football talent you will get alot of exposure playing for ND. EVERY game is on local network television. No other school can promise that.

Is Barkley going to play?

November 22, 2010  09:53 AM ET

Go Vols

November 22, 2010  10:06 AM ET

The timing of this is strange. But no, the Seeberg incident is not a factor in this. Hayes tweeted a problem with his visit, which happened prior to the ChiTrib breaking the story (the two-month old story at that). This involves something else and may not necessarily involve anything bad per se. People are made uncomfortable by many things that others find perfectly normal. He might have been "uncomfortable" with the level of religious practice on the campus. He might have been "uncomfortable" with the residence life policies. He might have been "uncomfortable" with something his recruiting guide said or did. It could be anything.

Geez... good point... I haven't heard anything thru the media... if not, we're <bleeped> I'm afraid... unless that athletic defense can learn to use their arms to tackle and not over run plays... they learned from the best, Taylor Mays... who became a headhunter his senior year...

The ship has sunk on ND and Michigan.....power houses no more......same could also be said about Miami, FSU. and Nebraska (even though they FINALLY had a decent year, but still they aren't even close to what they used to be).

You might just be a little premature on predicting demise for any of those programs. All programs go through enormous funks at one time or another. Trojan fans who have followed the school for more than ten years can attest to this fact.
