Gailey was asked whether Merriman would suit up at all this season for the Bills. "I don't know. That's a good question." ... Told he didn't sound confident Merriman could eventually play, Gailey responded: "Well, I'm not. There's got to be something that gives me confidence. Nobody's said, 'OK, you can expect him in two weeks.' Nobody's said that yet."

Merriman can play...the guy just needs some motivation and to be healthy.

He would be best suited on a team that has a very good pass rusher already, meaning he gets lots and lots of one on one matchups to exploit.

Believe it or not, I think he would be better than Spencer in Dallas on the opposite side to Ware.

Spencer is average at best with flashes of brillance...maybe, just maybe, adding Merriman to that team will allow Dallas to rest both guys, using Spencer on rushing downs, which he is good at and then going with a hybrid line of Ware, Ratliff, Spencer and Merriman on Nickle downs giving lots and lots of speed.
