08:50 AM ET 11.24 | Could Zygi Wilf make up for his "clumsily" delivered announcement of Leslie Frazier with a bigger announcement down the road? That might be the only way that Wilf, who despite the dire economy will push again for a new stadium in the next state legislative session, can sell hope for this team to the public. ... The most likely guy, if Wilf goes that route, would seem to be Jon Gruden, as coach. If Wilf were able to entice Gruden, who coached Tampa Bay to a Super Bowl championship, Gruden certainly would require control over personnel decisions. That way, Wilf could leave his current front office, for the most part, intact. Gruden's price tag could be $30 million over five years.

Brett is surely about to load up the wagon, now.

Is that a riding crop in Chuckie's hand? This team could use some discipline.

November 24, 2010  09:05 AM ET

Then what?? Demote Leslie Frazier? Come on stupid. They already are on the hook for That QB's millions. Adrian Petersons contract will be discussed as well. Now throwing thirty mil at Gruden when you can keep Frazier for 1/10th of that. Not wise Star Tribune.

Chucky looks like he is ready to be caught doen't he?

November 24, 2010  09:14 AM ET

I was going to say that Dallas is a better fit (it is) but I doubt Jerrah wants a HC with a backbone. This might actually work, not sure about the figure. Ziggy has been spending like it's going out of style with little to no return on his investment. For some reason, I was picturing Chucky in Cleveland after Mangina gets deposed.

November 24, 2010  09:17 AM ET

He'll be sorry.

November 24, 2010  09:19 AM ET

I think Ziggy should guarentee the money too - so that way if the labor situation doesn't work out, he can waste a few more million having Chuckie stare at a wall

I like the thought of that - but Holmgren likely would not hand over personnel decisions, and still might have the desire to come to the sidelines himself (which I hope he doesn't)

The more I watch Gruden on MNF, the less I want him here.

Has anyone seen him rip anybody for anything this season? Last time I saw a jobless coach kissing up like that on TV, we got John MacLoud to coach the Mavs.

That went well for a year...

Yeah, I agree. You can't help but feel that Holmgren likes to keep that option open.

With the threat of no football next season it appears that carrot top will be the guy.

Is Wilf like MILF?

which could also scare away a semi-decent coach being interviewed...

Fisher is setting things up for his big Tennessee exit anyway.

Come to Dallas Jeff.

Chucky cannot evaluate talent. He is not a good fit anywhere.

Dallas has plenty of talent, so they need a guy on the sidelines that can make them produce. But it's hard to see Chuckie working for Jerry.

That comment is just flat out ****...

Garrett is no punk and has plenty of backbone.

Jimmy Johnson has one too....so did Parcells.

Chucky is not leaving ESPN unless it is for 5-6mil per season and he is in Minnesota or Dallas.

All of the other jobs and doomed for failure.

Said it once, say it again...

Cowher is going to Carolina...Gruden is going to stay at ESPN and you will see MANY teams stick with their coordinators thru next season.

Reason why? Because of the lockout.

Why pay a new coach 6mil per season only to have him unable to have ANY contact with players until a new agreement is made.

You can keep a Frazier in Minnesota or a Garrett in Dallas as your head coach through next season because they are ALREADY under contract...and, candidly, if both do a good job, why would you go outside of the organization for a big name?
