08:11 AM ET 11.25 | While former No. 1 overall pick Bryan Bullington is heading to Japan, might Kevin Millwood be heading to Kansas City? The Royals are showing interest in veteran right-hander Kevin Millwood, the Baltimore Sun reports. Millwood, 35, was 4-16 with a 5.10 ERA last season for the Orioles, who chose not to offer arbitration prior to Tuesday's deadline. The Sun also cited Colorado as an interested team. The Royals are shopping for an innings-eating starter -- and Millwood averaged 189 innings over the last 13 years.

Okay, As one of the rare Royals fans, let me give you my gut reaction... WHO CARES! Listen, I love the Royals, but we're not stupid. This guy isn't apart of the future. If they signed him, he would only be apart of the present. The Royals are invested in winning for the 2011 season. This guy would help them field a team, while their prospects continue to develop in the farm system. Dayton told me a few years back that this would be a 10 year rebuild and he's right. The Royals are finally building from within, but it takes time. Royals fans are willing to be patient, but David Glass better be willing to sign Mike Montgomery, Mike Moustakas, Aaron Crow, Tim Melville, Eric Hosmer and others if it all starts coming together. I'd be mad... again, if the team asked us to be patient and then let guys like these walk away to the Yankees or Redsox. You want to build through the minors? Fine, but be committed to it and build around the guys we have!

Why not go after Ben Sheets for a low dollar deal? The guy got hurt and may not pitch again, but he would be worth taking a small risk on. I mean, he had some nasty stuff once and he's a guy that could show the young guys leadership if he could make the team.

Any way the Royals could bring back Jeff Suppan for low money since his value is so low? I mean Suppan used the Royals once to improve and then left to win a World Series MVP with St. Louis. Why not comeback and finish his career here for a bargain basement price?

Yep. Actually, his son Jackson has followed broadcaster Denny Matthews around since he was three or four. The kid actually goes on air and does a couple of innings of play by play each year. Obviously, he's very knowledgeable about the game.
