Alabama's running game healthy enough?

09:55 AM ET 11.26 | The Iron Bowl may be won on the ground, where Auburn has six straight 300-yard rushing games against SEC teams. [Nick] Saban has only twice allowed a team to run for 300 yards during his nine SEC seasons. That would be Arkansas with Darren McFadden and Felix Jones in 2007, and Alabama with Shaud Williams and Santonio Beard in 2002. You rarely beat Saban with one running option. Auburn has at least three. ... The question then becomes whether Alabama can run the ball well enough to create balance. Guard Barrett Jones could be out, and Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson have fought injuries this season. Auburn limited South Carolina's Marcus Lattimore, Arkansas' Knile Davis and LSU's Stevan Ridley -- the SEC's top runners not named [Cam] Newton -- to an average of 53.7 yards per game.

SEC defense is a joke this year. Nothing special over other conferences. We'll see what the deal is when the top defense (LSU) takes on the top passing offense (Arkansas).

Exactly FJJ...
... isn't the SEC West 100-0 against outside competition, in the last week alone...?

Way off the sarcasm meter FJJ.

Just 23-1....not nearly as impressive as 100 - 0

Didn't LSU just get lit up by Ole Miss?

Fair share of cupcakes, but the list also includes wins over Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Penn State, Clemson, Texas A & M, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Still pretty impressive

Maybe historically, some of those teams are impressive...
... but, who on that list is REALLY impressive this year?

If Bammer couldn't stop JJ/Lee, I don't see how they can stop Newton.

Not in a week....he's referencing ESPN's pushing that the top 4 teams in SEC West are 23-1 against everyone but each other.

Yet all three COULD make it to a BCS bowl. Original arguement was that the 23-1 record wasn't all cupcakes. Multiple wins over top-25 teams as well as wins over teams still playing for conference championships. The state of Alabama has had a great football year, and LSU and Arkansas have been strong, too. 4 teams in the top 12 in the same divison of the same conference is impressive

Alabama's team last year could have hung with anyone.

Agreed...what a way to end the big 12 championship. That would be funny. BTW, I'm not saying OU, Tex, Tex Tech, and Ok State aren't impressive, I think that was HUGE. As for how they are judged, those four went 1-3 in the bowls. We'll see how this group compares.
It is a down year, but it has been fun. CFB is still the best thing going

Would love to see it. That would be the ultimate irony and further prove just how ridiculous all this is.
