Urlacher: Bears LBs best in NFL

09:08 AM ET 11.27 | The top linebacker corps in the league will be on display against Michael Vick, if you asked Brian Urlacher. "No doubt we have the best. Not even a question in my mind,'' Urlacher said. "I think our whole unit believes that. "And it's not just our starting linebackers. If you look at our whole group, we're the best group, top to bottom, no doubt.'' The Steelers' foursome of James Harrison, Lawrence Timmons, James Farrior, and LaMarr Woodley might disagree, but it's hard to argue with Urlacher's assessment based on the way the linebackers have performed this season. Urlacher leads the Bears in tackles (based on coaches' review) with 78, followed by Lance Briggs with 70.

Sullsheet!

Who has the #1 defense in the NFC? not the Bears. Roids are turning this boy into a tard.

Perhaps the high number of tackles can be attributed to the fact that their quarterback frequently gives up the ball. I don't think the Bears' Defense intimidates anyone anymore, except maybe Buffalo. I think teams are much more conscious of the Steelers or Ravens' Linebacking corps.

The way Vick has been playing I don't think Urlacher can catch up with him. Vick should have a fine day.

I bet he'll do fine too, but I still think he's a puke and hope he gets pounded.

If the offensive line was as good at the linebackers, one could make a valid case for the Bears continued success.

But... they are not.

It ought to be a good game Sunday. Vick is not the same QB he was the last time the Bears faced him in '05. This will indeed be a litmus test.

A non story - what else would he say?

It looks like I was wrong. I thought Urlacher had lost a step but apparently he can still run...his mouth.

I agree Stu. I'm not buying the Eddie Haskell act.

Give him time; Eddie Haskell always got caught. I would also like to thank you for the Leave it to Beaver reference. How many people read your comment and thought, who the hell is Eddie Haskell and who did he play for?
