10:20 AM ET 11.28 | Florida coach Urban Meyer said an ESPN.com report that Gators defensive line coach Dan McCarney had accepted the head coaching job at North Texas was news to him. "Not that I know of," Meyer said after UF's 31-7 loss at Florida State. "I have not been made aware of that."

Just another indication that you have lost control coach. You should have taken that year off.

R'uh r'oh, Raggy!

@#$! I was hoping it was Adazzio who left.

November 28, 2010  12:02 PM ET

Wow. I would NOT want to be around Urban Meyer today. OK, in fairness, I wouldn't want to be around him on ANY day, but especially not today.

November 28, 2010  12:04 PM ET

Probably a good decision to stay away from him. I hope Adazzio is stupid enough to mouth off to him today. Maybe then he'll finally get demoted back to OL coach or fired. Congrats to the Noles fans, btw.

McCarney will join fellow former USF Mike Canales (interim HC, and OC).

UNT almost dumped KState last night. This would be an interesting add, and maybe set back UF's D a little bit. Although, after watching FSU carve them up, I'm not sure they aren't starting from scratch anyway.

Looking at the season as a whole, our D hasn't been too bad. They haven't been as dominant as they were over the last few years, but they've been decent this year. The problem is that the O is so lousy that the D never has a chance to get off the field for very long.

You talkin' 'bout UTx there son. Sure sounds like it.

I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but, unfortunately, this year almost anything one says about UF or UTx applies to the other team as well. I guess Meyer and Brown got together and decided that misery loves company. Heck of a way to shock the football world, if you ask me.

I know... I know... Too many years staring at figures on CRTs... But, that looks like a picture of Urban M pasted with a caption reading, "Dan McCarney."

Google images has several pictures of Dan.

If you will email me where to send them I have some pics for you from the VU UTK game TM.

Please, please someone take Adazio off of our hands. This all shows just how important good assitants like Strong and Mullen are....

My God, the Gators sucked this year. I knew it would be at least a 3-loss season, but that was a pathetic offensive showing. I've been to every UF home game since 1984 and 2010 was by far the worst offensive showing I have seen. If Adazzio isn't fired by Urban, then he has completely lost his sanity and needs to be fired too. Yes, that's right, Urban may need to be replaced. After his "illness" he is not the same coach he was.

A message to all Gator recruits

Meyer still has not fired Adazzio.
Do you really want to play for Adazzio in this type of offense? You want to play for a guy who thinks you can score points running sideline to sideline?
A guy who has no concept of what a forward pass is?
A man whose total and only understanding of a running play is to send a 180 pound guy into a defensive line weighing 250+ pounds?

Help us Gator fans force Meyer's hands by asking him if he is keeping this guy as offensive coordinator. Just be brutally honest and tell him you want to win and this guy is not a winner, nowhere close to the word. Tell him if Adazzio is the best he can do you will go to a school that has an offensive coordinator who understands the concept of a spread offense and knows how to run one.

Gator fans better wake up and realize Meyer is grooming this guy to be your next head coach, you do realize this don't you?

November 29, 2010  10:27 AM ET

I wouldn't read too much into this comment. I'm pretty sure that since Gator message boards have known that Dan McCarney was leaving, that Urban Meyer also knew he was leaving...

November 29, 2010  10:37 AM ET

yoBBK..........

Meyer knew????????? Yeah right he got blindsided big time. There will be more defections coming.

Meyer's hasn't figured out Adazzio is not an offensive coordinator and it's going to hit him when recruits start shutting their doors to him and the rest of the coaches bail for hanging onto the dummy.

If true this is good news for North Texas.

Dan McCarney is an excellent coach.
