08:28 AM ET 11.30 | Among college football's many storylines, an outsized portion of them screamed from the SEC West. A single division is home to the nation's No. 1 team, the preseason No. 1 team, the Heisman Trophy frontrunner, the most interesting coach of the year, the most bizarre finish of the year, the most astonishing comeback of the year, the most sought-after target in this winter's coaching carousel, one of the most gripping scandals in the history of the sport and, as of Sunday, five of the top 22 teams in all of the mainstream polls, more than any other conference as a whole.

and soon to be home to an 0-whatever team after the Tigers are forced to forfeit their games due to the guy who is the best player in college football also being a colossal fraud.

They said that about the Big 12 South two years ago, then the bowl games were played where the teams from that division met the rest of college football for the first time that year and the Big 12 South was 3 inches (the measurement of a 4th down conversion on game-winning td drive) from being 0-4 in bowl games.
They ended up 1-3.
So before we go crowning the SEC West as anything other than the SEC West, let the bowl games play out and we will see how good they are.

Rumor summary: SEC West sports writers are in overdrive. 60% of all their "news" is speculation or warmed over headlines. The rest of the country is playing football.

Old Timer they must have seen our comments yesterday.

I thought the excuse from teams representing tough conferences (or divisions) is they are always just beat up exhausted and emotionally spent from the rigors of such a tough schedule. No?

I'm proud of my alma mater finishing second in this division, but agree the proof will be in the bowl games. SEC West teams have beaten some good teams already, but bowl projections show potential match-ups with Oregon, Ohio State, Texas A & M, Michigan State, and Clemson. There will be plenty of opportunity to prove the strength of this divison

Sad to say, this is correct. And when it comes out that they knew all along that they should have been sitting this guy, there won't be one college football fan outside of auburn that doesn't hate them.

Beating the sheep herders from College Station may not help you prove it. They beat both teams playing in the Big 12 CCG and got left out. They must not rate...and they beat UTx and actually dropped a few spots. Need to prove it against the others.

Excuse me but does'nt the Big Ten have the #4 #6 and the #7 teams in the country right now. Pretty good year if I say so.

Yes they do and yes that is a pretty good year by any standards.

True but Cam is no fraud. At least not on the field. Now whether he should even be on the field is a whole different story.

That was my point FJJ. He is the best player in the land but he is ineligible based on his father's statement alone that he asked for money for Cam's services. I love to watch him play but I hate what he/his dad/reps/etc. has done to college football.

Hey guys I just realized that earlier this morning on another thread I posted my 500th comment!

Does joining the 500 Club mean automatic admission to the T & R Hall of Fame? Or is it a comment on my pathetic life?

Insight please.

Yeah...I miss the good ole days when the SEC East ruled the college football landscape.

There used to be an unofficial title of Megaposter that came with your 1,000th post, not sure if that still applies around here or not.

Congrats BB9. If you have a "pathetic" life, what does that say about the rest of us? Especially those that have posts in the 1,000s.

Depends on the type of posts.

If it was 500 non-BCS conference posts....that isn't that impressive. How can you compare that to someone who posted 250 BCS conference posts?

What are your OOC posts like? Are they from BCS conferences or are you posting about the 'sisters of the poor'?
