08:09 AM ET 12.02 | Encouraging signs suggest the Giants' banged-up offense is on the mend ahead of schedule. Both Hakeem Nicks and Steve Smith, the Giants' two injured receivers, seem to be targeting a return for the Giants' Dec. 12 game at Minnesota, meaning they'd only miss one more game before getting back in the lineup. Smith, in fact, said there's even "a chance" he could play this Sunday, after he felt OK catching passes at practice today. "I wouldn't say a big chance," Smith said. "But there's a chance."

The past is not necessarily an indication of the future. You can try to put a positive spin on the season but good luck with that.

It's all we got, man. Season's lost, but I wouldn't want to be playing the Vikings D that has finally figured out how to sack someone again.

From a Cowboys perspective...I hear ya. Feel the pain man. But...GO PATS!!!

Giants have really missed Smith. He runs good routes, gets first down yardage when needed, gets down on the ground, and holds on to the ball. He's the Giants' version of Wes Welker.

He best not do anything in the return game. That's about all he ever did for the Skins.

I would love to know what he said when the Giants asked him about our Scheme...

I think he played the role of taking the 5th, knowing he didn't have a clue anyhow.

Soon as Nicks and Smith return, he'll be looking for his 4th team of the year.

All that promise and....nothing. Skins still have Kelly on the roster, don't they. Only Davis turned into anything.

Very true... Of the 3 only Davis shines.

I think Nicks has that same injury Jason Taylor had when he was here.... That would mean end of the season for him.

He's just as capable as Cooley....

Devin Thomas: "Scheme? They had a scheme? Why wasn't I ever told that?"

Once his blocking improves. To his credit he's trying.

True... But Cooley's no major blocker as well.
