08:10 AM ET 12.03 | Chris Paul is saying all the right things about New Orleans, but he's still set to become a free agent. If the Knicks are to have the best chance at landing Chris Paul in 2012, they may want to consider keeping Mike D'Antoni around. Paul, who faces the Knicks tonight at New Orleans Arena for the first time since his infamous champagne toast at Carmelo Anthony's wedding in July, heaped unsolicited praise on the Knicks coach, saying he is "a huge fan."

Lots of talk about players going to a team that has sucked for almost a decade

I think this article is funny because they said the same thing about all the free agents last year...They swore that all these players wanted to play for him.....which turned out to be false

I agree a lot of players and agents use New York as leverage to get a fair deal from other teams cos they know when it comes to paying we always overpay. But you can't put Lebron and CP3 on the same pedestal. Lebron is a liar... the lying King. Also Hornets can't sustain that hot start. The last trade they made reduced them to a .500 team and if Warriors, Clippers, Phoenix and Portland gain steam Hornets won't make the playoffs... even if they squeeze in they will be knocked out like a Lebron team. New York is no longer the perenial loser - there's decent pieces in STAT, Felton, Chandler, Fields, Douglas... so what he said holds water.

if you think they wont make the playoffs thats a lot of wishing

F all these players coming in two years.NY has been playing good ball NOWCan we concentrate on NOW.....Walsh, get us a big man

I don't know if another big will help as much in the system we play. We got Mozgov & Randolph locked in for three years so we need to focus and developing them. Then there's Eddy Curry who can play spots minutes here and there. I think we really need is another point guard so we can play Felton and Douglas together more. We always go on a run when them two are in the game together.

The reason it looks as if we need another big is Gallo. His defense sucks and he gives up so many points. I think opposing coaches draw plays to involve him on defense. I think he needs to go to the bench once Turiaf gets back so we can start Chandler.

Im not sure why they say DA will be the one to get him there...I mean they arent running as much of an up tempo style that he usually runs anyways...Since getting Amare they are running a lot more half court plays...

I do wish em well but there's a great chance they won't make it. Even if they do they won't go far and that's not what CP3 wants.

We don't have speedsters on our team. Our starting small forward is not a runner and our players aren't smart enough to make wise decisions on the fly so coach had to tone it down so they can focus on set plays and ball movement. That's worked so far.

Also Felton is yet to master the pick and roll. They do run occassionally but not as much as Phoenix did cos the talent level is not up there yet.

As for hornets not making playoffs your high but cp3 is still going to ny or orlando and melo

cp3 want to compete if he stays in west he will be in finals 4 years all the good west teams stars are getting old except kd and westbrook thats a problem

QUOTE(#13):

Ive said all along we will compete for the 7-8 seed.Somehow, we block shots......but our post defense absolutely sucksI would love for randaolph to step up and be that big.....But the guy looks lost out there.... don't have my hopes upBittom line is that at best were a 1st round exit,I get that, am am ok with it....but long term......building a team, we desperately need a big....that should be priority #1. Not melo or cp.Obviously they are greaat, but we'll still have the fatal flaw of being soft in the paint. And you cannot win that way

The thing is we don't need a scoring big and won't need one cos we got STAT who can score. What we need and will need is another banger bigger than Turiaf to rebound and block shots. So we need to get Mozgov to do that and keep on developing Randolph. Both players have the size and talent to do that so there's no need to import a big. Doing so will mess up our cap flexibility.

Also given D'Antoni's system we'll need a high scoring perimeter player so getting Melo should be priority. Personally I think if we get Melo this season we're right there with the elites of the East...

But then nobody knows what the next CBA will bring so there's a chance CP3 will be out of our reach but with Melo, STAT and Felton we'll blow out the mediocre teams and be able to go toe to toe with any team.

We're very close...

I'm not a knicks fan and couldn't care less where he goes, but I could see him in ny. The system dantoni runs is perfect for him. He would actually it in well there and would have better numbers then anywhere else because the system was built with a pg like him in mind. And if melo ends up there as well, yikes! That would be quite a fast team that could be very difficult to beat at their own run run run score 1000 points game.

Which all the adjustments and things he has done is winning basketball...Not the Suns style everyone was so starry eyed over.........

Maybe they weren't playing beer pong when they made that toast. Y're very correct in everything you said. He will sure win MVP in D'Antoni's system and put up crazy stats playing for D'Antoni.

Lebron would have been done well but he took advice from Eddy Curry, his prostitute mother and gay Bosh so he's now languishing in Miami.... I'm so happy he's not our problem but chea NY could have a very bright future.
