08:32 AM ET 12.04 | The New Orleans Hornets could become the first franchise owned and operated by the NBA because of minority owner Gary Chouest's reluctance to purchase George Shinn's majority share. Sources indicated Friday night that Chouest does not think he can devote the needed time to run an NBA franchise and operate his private business. With Chouest's withdrawing his potential offer to purchase the franchise, the NBA is considering buying Shinn's share before seeking a buyer or a group of investors willing to keep the team in the Crescent City.

It's never too early for the NY post to start speculating

Or the fans. We all can be like a bunch of buzzards picking over a carcass at times. Is a team in NO really a viable idea any more? As much as they are winning and they still can't sell out the arena right now. I would say move the org to a better market. The fans there obviously don't care and if CP3 leaves they will never come watch.

How many better markets are there?
Maybe it's time for contraction

^^ Sorry Onion, that was intended for the spammers.Do you think Stern would want the 3 egos at this point? I think he would break them up and trade for suitable pieces.

No problem, the spammers are annoying. Hopefully SI is large enough and has enough IT people to figure out a way to keep them out.

Hmmm. In this market I'm not sure. I wonder why the fans aren't excited about their team in NO. Did the whole Chris Paul trade thing kill the buzz for them? Seattle needs a team again.I like the idea of contraction. Start with Toronto.

Why Toronto?
It's the 5th largest city in North America
They get fans in the seats
And I live in Toronto!

NY Post has had CP3, MELO going to NY City since the Melo / LaLa wedding in JULY

QUOTE(#20):

I guess I feel that way because no great players ever want to go there and they never have a good team. Just seems like they should take the players and spread them into other good teams. The same with a couple of other teams also.

The players love visiting Toronto because it's a party town. They don't like going through customs all the time.

the way the knicks are playing right now, I cna see Melo coming when he is a FA. Than cp3 started up his demands for a trade again this summer. Should be interesting. NY post had those 2 coming to NY w/amare b/c that is what CP3 and Melo said. not the post.
