Can Seattle dream about a team?

08:12 AM ET 12.06 | The NBA scooping up the New Orleans Hornets is likely just the beginning of what-if scenarios that range from the future of Chris Paul to the possibility of relocation. The Hornets need to average 14,735 by January 31. If they don't, the team can get out of their lease for just a $10 million penalty. The club would have to let them know by March 31, 2011 that they wish to end the lease. ... Yes, you still have Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer with $2 billion in cash burning in his pocket. When Seattle stopped their "Scorched Earth" Policy with David Stern (his words, not ours), maybe that will allow the door to open for the NBA to return to Seattle.

Well hopefully they can get a team and get them a new building this time instead of a airplane hanger....

Seattle had their chance. Why travel this bad road again???

Bc Seattle is a great basketball city and supports their teams....The problem was that the Thunders ownership was wanting a new arena and wanted the tax payers to pay for it and they werent having it then...Maybe they have changed their minds to help pay some of the cost of it....

Give Seattle their team back....

If this billionaire wants to shine like Cuban he bette cough up the dough for the arena as well but hey I'm all for this dragging out as it helps with Knicks CP3 dreams with Felton backing him up.

QUOTE(#8):

Well it appears that a move to Seatlle can't be worse than staying in New Orleans so perhaps I shouldn't be asking why, and instead why not?

Not to be mean...But most of New Orleans looked like a hurricane hit it even BEFORE Katrina hit....I mean they didnt know how much damage it did bc most of the city was already in shambles...

QUOTE(#9):

Give? They lost it, let them earn it back.

maybe i'm not clear on what happened...i thought they lost the team because the city didn't want to use taxes to help billionares build a stadium....

QUOTE(#10):

As long as there is no expansion.....I don't care If stern wants to MOVE the hornets, nyets, clippers, kings to seattle, It's all good- but do NOT start another franchise

you mean you're not in favor of the new Las Vaegas franchise ?.....

December 6, 2010  09:03 AM ET

The Milwaukee Bucks are in the same corner, Owner Senator Herb Kohl 75, Bradley Center open in 1988 .... been talking NEW arena for 5 years now ..... who gets the team when Herb died??? Nobody knows ....

So I can see Milwaukee being the next Seattle ... New Owners from Out of Town ..... want NEW place to Play ... and Bye - Bye ..... Kansas City or St. Louis here we come!

I think it would be awesome if the NBA put another team in seattle.

No. That's pretty much what happened from my understanding as well. My point is, if you're going to cave and do it later, why not do it sooner and retain the team? I'm sure it'll cost them more now to get them back than it would've cost them to keep the team in the first place.

i see... it will take more to move the franchise back, but the dividens will pay off in the future, with the support from the fans in Seattle as opposed to what they have now in the N.O. IMHO.
