Falcons fueled by Dangerfield status

07:59 AM ET 12.09 | Even at 10-2, Atlanta is wrestling with an image problem. Some Falcons feel like they are the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL. They have the best record in the league and can clinch a playoff berth Sunday, but they are not getting much national respect. Despite posting victories over the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, the mighty Baltimore Ravens and Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, the Falcons are not feeling much national media love. ... "As far as I'm concerned, we can fly all the way under the radar all the way to [the Super Bowl]," linebacker Mike Peterson said. "I wouldn't mind that at all. They'll know about us when we get there."

Because the Media is fairly AFC biased this year and they just like to say this team is the tops of the NFC whether it is the Giants, Packers, Eagles, Falcons....the interesting battles are out in the AFC
More people were interested in who would take the AFC North & East lead than whether Josh Freeman could outduel the Falcons
