Fisher's job no longer a given?

08:02 AM ET 12.09 | Stability at the top has been a way of life in Tennessee, but loyalty's limits may be tested. In good seasons and bad seasons and all those 8-8 seasons, Jeff Fisher seldom has faced questions about his job security. He was the head coach, no questions asked, with the long-term contract to prove it. The game has changed. Five-game losing streaks do that. ... Even in seasons when their record slumped, Fisher's teams had an identity. They ran the ball with gusto. They stopped the run. It wasn't always pretty but they played tough, physical, inspired football. The 2010 season is a case of mistaken identity -- or no identity whatsoever.

Getting rid of Fisher would be a big mistake. Draft a QB that can develop in 5 years, as opposed to remain stagnant and throw tantrums...

Go Fish

Oh well - looks like he won't be coming here.

If the Niners had a lick of sense they would jump on this.

Oh...and the receiving corp is a "C-" at best...

Even if it's just for a change.....dewd can coach...

December 9, 2010  08:09 AM ET

I'm a big Fisher fan and bigger Titans fan, but something need to change- for all involved.

December 9, 2010  08:12 AM ET

Why would he want to continue to work there? I don't think "this Bud's for you" applies to him anymore.

Got some holes to fill... starting at QB. I just don't see the coach as the problem.

or Carolina where he would be guarenteed a young QB of his choice....

Fisher's likable, but I think it's time for a change for both parties.

True. But, Fisher looks more and more worn down each week. A change of scenery would do him good- it would suck for the Titans, though.

He should take a year off and come back somewhere else...like Washington....

Hell, we'll take him here in Indy. Fisher already loves wearing Manning's jersey (hint, hint).

It's tough on a coach being HC and a shrink - get Young some better help on and off the field.

Fish should stay.

Why are all NFL fans that don't root for the Skins, calling for Shanny's job?
