08:00 AM ET 12.09 | The Chargers' announcement Wednesday rang as both a half-full and half-empty gesture -- yes, they'll stay for 2011, but there were no further guarantees. They can get out of their deal Feb. 1 through May 1 every year through 2020, when the lease expires. ... If the team were to leave for Los Angeles or anywhere else, it sure wasn't going to be in 2011, which promises to be a year of uncertainty given the NFL's labor problems that could lead to a player lockout. But there were no guarantees for 2012 by either club President Dean Spanos or Chargers counsel Mark Fabiani, his point man on new stadium issues.

Isn't this one of the few teams in the NFL that's actually had to black out a few games because the stadium wasn't filled? And they expect this kind of taxpayer support from such a wishy-washy fan base?
Don't expect much better in LA, though.
