Staal's timetable extended again

09:33 AM ET 12.09 | While Sidney Crosby continues a torrid pace to lead the streaking Penguins, Jordan Staal's season isn't going as smoothly. It looks as if Staal might not be ready to make his season debut by mid-December as the team had hoped, assuming mid-December is taken literally. A return to practice isn't imminent for Staal, who is recovering from surgery on a broken right hand, and it would seem he would need at least a few practices before he plays. "He's not close enough that I know [about it]," coach Dan Bylsma said Wednesday of Staal getting clearance to practice.

I watched the Pens dismantle the Laffs last night. Jordan can take all the time he needs.

The best part about this is that Staal's foot is completely healed so he's able to skate at full speed and keep his conditioning high. So what if he needs to take an extra week or two for the hand. Make sure it's 100% and then come back.

On a side note, how much of a Badass is Sid this year?

Sid is on fire. Another 2 last night. Unbelievable!

While it's doubtful Sid will keep it up the rest of the year, this is an amazing strecth that is reminiscent of the high scoring days of old.

Plus, how much better will this team be when Staal and Malkin come back?

He's soooooo bad I thought they were going to have to change "one up - one down" to "one up - one going down." (And his name rhymes with Pierre McGuire.)

No words can express.

DWI Downer here....

The Pens will hit a slump again, no doubt. But if they are doing this good w/o Staal and Malkin? God help the East when they return. ;)

Wow! I didn't know they let 5 year olds on this site. Seriously, that's the BEST you can come up with. "Break up???" It's not like they're dating Sparky.

Not a downer really...of course they'll hit a slump again, that's the nature of the beast in sports.

But "God help the East when they return" may not be too far from the truth either as those are some pretty impressive players to add to any roster. Couple they're return with the Paul Martin and Zbynek Michalek additions on D in the offseason and this is a very solid team.

Sid gets or can get more female **** than a toilet seat. Quite with your fantasies about him in your mom's basement!

Dan Bylsma doesn't rhyme with Pierre McGuire!

After a slow start, they're looking good. Can't wait for Staal's return.

Your point? We were allowed to be. You all complain about your goalies, and look where you sit? Shut the puck up. ;)
