08:10 AM ET 10.26 | The Lakers aren't going to gamble in Las Vegas with Kobe Bryant. Bryant has been diagnosed with a sprained right wrist and will sit out tonight's exhibition finale against Sacramento in Las Vegas. X-rays taken Thursday were negative and the Lakers hope Bryant will be able to return to practice Saturday, when they begin final preparations for Tuesday's season opener. Coach Phil Jackson said he "would anticipate" Bryant being able to play Tuesday against Houston.

He'll be fine. It makes sense not to risk a more serious injury on a pre-season game against Sacramento of all teams.

Get better Kobe! Please stay!

He's doggin it.

Sprained wrist? And the wrist-bone's connected to the e-go.

Preseason games are wothless and moreso for the guys who are trying to make the team. The veterans only play half a game as they try to get their game legs.

This guy is a WARRIOR. ODOM is a panzy..hahaha GO KOBE, your always reliable, a true champion!!!

October 26, 2007  03:08 PM ET

Warrior? Hardly.. Last time I checked he was a pro basketball player who plays for the Lakers...

Guess that snotrag catching all your whiny tears got a little too heavy, eh Kobe?

October 26, 2007  04:55 PM ET

For now I'll give Kobe the benefit of the doubt...for now. In view of all that has gone on this preseason, I have a feeling that this does not bode well for the Lakers. This may be a preview of things to come this year...in other words, another slow-motion tantrum by Kobe Bryant.

October 26, 2007  05:08 PM ET

Kobe's tough...we all know that. he sat out three practices, now he has some weak injury... i think he's letting them know he's doesn't want to be there and he's choosing not to play and they're covering it up by saying he injured.

Hova: Good point!
RR-AR: Great jingle.

He's got his mind on a hotel employee anyways, so of course he's not gonna play.I do believe the Mrs. will be showing off a new rock on her finger within a week or so.

October 27, 2007  03:19 AM ET

Great so first it was his knee and now wrist. He should really consult with Vlade about skiing trip. This is just the start of things to come. He really does not want to play for the Lakers but he does not want to get suspended because he wont get paid. But injured player do get paid SO FINALLY the time has come for the "best conditioned" athlete to break down. Just trade his already. Get some young players and rebuild this team.

Hey beer-n-drums I guess if it was up to you you would trade him to Denver HUH? So would I, Nene and Camby sure look good in Lakers uniform or even AI and Camby. And Kobe could be back to his stomping grounds

KObe's reputation is already shot to hell. He hasnt been out of the first round since Shaq left in 2004. He has serious character problems such as lashing out at the team instead of keeping things in the locker room which was always a staple of Phil Jackson, and he throws baby fits and wants to show up in games he wants to show up in such as game 7 vs the Suns in 2006 when he only took 2 attempts in the entire 2nd half. I wouldnt give up anybody worth anything for Kobe. Does Kobe have talent? Yes. Is he the best in the game right now? Hell no, people with that title usually lead their teams to something such as Dwayne Wade wnning finals mvp, or Lebron leading his team to the finals or Tim Duncan dominating since 1999 thats players who deserve the title of "best". Kobe is a whiner who at this point in is career is known for being Shaq's sidekick instead of his own talent. Good luck to you in the future Kobe

Yeah Snake24, Kobe is basically in the same mold of Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Paul Pierce. Great talents but far from being the best. Whatever team you put Tim Duncan on its going to win 50+ games and be a real threat to win it all.
