08:16 AM ET 12.11 | Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway confirmed his interest in working for the Broncos again. Elway said Friday on his weekly radio show on Denver's 87.7 The Ticket that he has spoken with team owner Pat Bowlen and chief operating officer Joe Ellis about joining the front office in an official capacity, but those discussions haven't gone far.

If the Broncos front office is that worried about keeping the fan base happy, this might be a step in the right direction.

Whatever works, I just don't see that Elway brings much to the table as far as football operations. Unless he gives them a smokin' deal on a new car.

Translation--running out of cash and need a transfusion. This car thing is killing me!!!

The Elway incentive program. $1 off a new Esclade for each yard gained. $100 off for each TD. Sacks are good for $50 and interceptions $75, and Christina Augulara's Bikini $19.95. Stains Extra.

He's been looking for cash ever since he dumped Janet and had to pay her off.

Nice...

Elway already owns Denver, he might as well go for the franchise too.

Not really original. U$C has had that plan in place for years!!!

Sure, why not? It might help keep the fans happy, as was stated upthread.

Funny, all this time I thought the front office and head coaching positions was a package deal in Denver. Silly me...

I know I'm alone on this... but Elway is the most overrated QB in the last 30 years of professional football.

December 11, 2010  12:58 PM ET

Maybe he should ask Dan Marino how well the front office gig worked.

You are alone. How many guys walk off the field after just winning back to back Super Bowls and garnering the MVP award?

You don't by chance root for the Browns do you?

Youre right Elway won championships when Reeves finally built a team, Elway had alot of sad years before those winning years

Reeves wasn't there when they won it back to back. During the Reeves era, Elway was in 3rd and long most of the time due to Dan's crappy play-calling. By "sad" years you must be referring to all those wins and a few SB loses...

...or how it feels to never win the big one...

You are alone and apparently in bad company.
