08:23 AM ET 12.13 | While it is often assumed the Yankees are a club willing to open the cash faucet for the free agents they most covet, there appears to be a time to say, "when." Yankees GM Brian Cashman said Sunday he has spoken to Cliff Lee's agent since Thursday, and that there has been no increase in the seven years, or in the dollars -- believed to be $160 million -- the Yankees are offering the free-agent lefty. Nor, Cashman said, will the Yankees up the offer. A person with knowledge about what Lee has on the table said the Yankees' offer is "substantially" more than that of the Rangers, who are believed to be at six years with a vesting option for the seventh.

i'm at the point where I could care less about Lee..the yanks need an arm of his calibur but this is getting ridiculous.

They should just give him an ultimatum, here is our offer, you got 24 hours to accept, or we are moving on...........

Don't get me wrong...I'd be happy if Cliff Lee chooses the Yankees but I'm not holding my breath waiting for the answer. Cashman knows the fiscal situation in NY and he made his offer accordingly. If it's not enough then so what.

I say he goes to Texas. He's got a kid with leukemia here in Arkansas and in his shoes, I wouldn't want to be halfway across the country if God forbid something bad happens.

Atro is experiencing that down home family feelin'

Did you guys see the Jets assistant coach do his Woody Hayes impersonation yesterday? I wonder how hard the former Jets lawyer/commissioner will come down on this guy?

He should be fired in my HO.

And then the Yankees are ****, pitching-wise. It's amazing how different CC-Lee-Pettitte-Burnett-Hughes looks from CC-Pettitte-Burnett-Hughes-?, especially with Pettitte still up in the air about retiring.

Andy is torn I am sure. On one hand he as the option to come back to the Yanks, and on the other he has a tidy offer from Barry and Fran Weisler to play Freddie Mercury in their biopic
