Cowher off Cowboys list?

08:09 AM ET 12.13 | The coaching carousel took a quick spin Sunday in regards to former Steelers coach Bill Cowher. Cowher recently has made known his willingness to listen to "opportunities" for 2011. There will be no such "opportunity" for him in Dallas. A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that Cowher is not, and will not be, a candidate to coach the Cowboys. ... The lack of interest in Cowher confirms that, despite the team's recent struggles, owner Jerry Jones is not yet ready to cede some or all of his power to a head coach, like he did in 2003 when bringing in Bill Parcells.

Breaking news, Brad Childress is also not a candidate for Cowboys' coach.

Think Jones will promote Jason Garrett - things have looked a lot better since he took over.

He was once the coach of Dallas's former arch rival. Old school Pittsburgh fans would despise him if he would even attempt to go to Dallas.

Cowher would be a great fit in Dallas but Garrett is doing a damn good job.
I think Garrett should remain the coach of the Boys with a 2yr extension with a 3rd year team option.
Use the draft to build depth on the oline and use both the draft and free agency to get more guys in the secondary.
You do that, and get Romo back 100% healthy and Dallas will turn a lot of heads next season.

you better believe it! The only thing worse would be if he would show up in Cleveland or Cincy. but I don't see him coming back to the nfl, maybe college

Would prefer not to see a Cowher dynasty in Dallas. Wish Carolina would end this speculation.

Cowher is waiting for the Bears job to open up. And ... after getting their arses spanked raw by the Brady bunch last night at Soldier Field, he might not have to wait too long.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. Guess that means no GM for the Cowboys, either. I think that marketing will only take them so far. Sooner or later America is going to wake up and realize "their team" has slipped into mediocrity.

Cowher never was going there, only media trash talk. Garrett will stay. Cowher? Hmmmm? Titans maybe? Panthers? Browns?

Probably good for Bill Cowher...I think he is better off doing pregame-he did his years and has respect from the league.

Hey, Patriots Go Go??? you must've enjoyed watching the Pats using the Bears as push brooms and shovels at Soldier's Field last night. Cutler and those Bears pouseys, posing as NFL players, are too delicate to play in such conditions.
Loved it as much as the Lions beating the Pack.
