09:11 AM ET 12.13 | The father of at least one Hurricanes recruit is taking a wait-and-see approach to Al Golden, who will reach out to three lost commitments and others who may be unsure. "I don't know if excited would be the right word to describe how we feel," said Albert Louis-Jean Sr. of UM's coaching hire. "I'm just waiting to see what the rest of the staff looks like. I don't know if Mr. Golden has done anything in his career that you can look at and necessarily get excited about. ... We're going to go down and meet him, see how Albert feels and if he likes him. We'll go from there with his decision."

Uhh... and Randy Shannon did so much at The U worth getting excited about... Golden pulled Temple football back from the brink of irrelevance. They've won 26 games in the past 4 years under Golden... From 1993-2005, the Owls won 27 games... That's an average of 2 wins a season over 13 years and got the Owls kicked out of the Big East... Temple got booted by a football conference that was hemorrhaging football programs at the time... Their 3 top teams walked away and headed to the greener pastures of the ACC... Albert Louis-jean Sr. must be Randy Shannon's father-in-law if he's impressed by what Shannon did at The U... Or perhaps he's concerned by the fact that Golden has a reputation of being a disciplinarian and kicking players off the team if they couldn't keep their grades up to par...

Are his arms crossed in that picture?

Uh-oh.....

Temple to Miami is a big leap. People thought Brian Kelly going from Cincinnati to Notre Dame was a huge step... Temple to "The U" is about forty-eight THOUSAND times bigger than that! Plus, Al Golden's career win percentage is under .500. I just don't know. Not saying Golden can't do it at Miami, but I find myself underwhelmed by this pick.

I am waiting for the Golden Shower jokes. Please begin. That's a tough road to go down for Miami. Not a wow hire and the recruiting thieves are knocking on the door.

As long as the thieves stay out of Texas.

Yeah Golden was a solid coach at Temple. Those who say who haven't paid attention to his resume. It was freakin' Temple. But again not a big name guy so where is the Wow? Do you need one though.

I agree. Anyone who can turn Temple around deserves some respect. Recruiting will suffer this year but let's let things play out before he is written off

Apparently the news doesn't make it to Virginia so lets clear it up. Miami is currently number two in the nation for graduating football players, behind only Stanford. So I guess that would put them ahead of, say, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Haters. Its not 1985 anymore.

Just goes to show that once a reputation is established it takes a LOOOOOOOONG time to change that rep.

Father Knows Best. Maybe he wants to shop his kid around.

A bunch of dads (and their boys) have been takin' notes this season.

He does have experience reigniting a program. His staff will be vital to retaining recruits.

Uggh! "Underwhelming, Uninspiring,Unremarkable" are the only words I can think of to describe this. I though Hocutt wanted to make a big splash? I can't stand teh Gators, but damn: THAT was a work of art (high caliber coach, High-profile program, recruits top tier talent Nationally)! I was hoping that The U would at leat try to EQUAL that shockwave with their HC hire. I understand the succcess that he had at Temple, but it was Temple!! I guess time will tell......

Coming from a man whose most exciting accomplishment is talking about his son.

I am sure the kid is a real prize, with a father like that.
