Favre's career over?

08:38 AM ET 12.14 | The results of a Tuesday shoulder examination may determine whether Brett Favre's career is over. Favre had his NFL-record consecutive-games streak end at 297 games Monday as the Vikings lost to the New York Giants 21-3 at Ford Field. Favre sprained the sternoclavicular joint against the Buffalo Bills last week, but he said the problems actually started a week earlier against the Washington Redskins. Favre called his status day-to-day, but his right hand was a shade of purple after the game. "At times it feels OK," he said. "It's not so much the pain. There is a little pain, but that's subsided some. It's the tingling. I think it would be foolish to even consider playing if you don't have total feeling in five fingers."

As bad as this year has been, Brett, I'll always remember you as a winner. A guy who played the game all out, all the time. A guy who showed that there's still room for innovation and enthusiasm, even in these days of cold, mechanized quarterbacks who can throw a perfect pass every time, but lack emotion.
But hang 'em up already. Kiss and make up with Deanna. Go coach Hattiesburg High. And for God's sake, take Jen's number off your cell phone.

Should hang it up. The Vikings are done for this season, nothing to play for. Let them evaluate their other players.

he's done.... the streak is over - he got his monster pay day this yr and the vikes still struggle. what's he going to suit up for? most will celebrate that this yr when he retires.... it will finally be over.... tarnished legacy and all!

Brett should have never come back... he had a ridiculous season last year and they STILL couldn't get to the SuperBowl.
He was never healthy from the start...ankle, etc...
The guy needs to retire for good and get away from the game...especially since Jen Sterger is about to poo-poo all over everything he has done.
