08:42 AM ET 12.14 | Former Cubs pitcher Kerry Wood could see himself returning to the franchise with which he recorded his most memorable moment. "There has been a lot of interest, but at this stage of my career it has to be the right fit for my family. We are raising our kids and making our permanent home in Chicago, so we'll see what happens." On coming back to the Cubs: "Nothing is impossible. We'll see how things play out." There have also been several rumors about Wood possibly playing for the White Sox but that appears to be off the table. When asked about signing with the Sox, Wood smiled and said we've talked about that before. Wood has told us several times over the years that he could never see himself putting on a White Sox uniform.

It would be great to have wood back on the cubs. He has always been a class act. He is a great relief pitcher, who can only get better.

Good. He stunk it up for the Cubs, Indians, and Yanks so I am glad he doesn't want to play for the ChiSox. He is an underachieving bum who isn't worth a lot of money. I hope he signs back with the Cubs.

he's an injury prone gamer who pitches with pain and hence ends up on DL a lot. we cub fans all agree he didnt turn into the pitcher we hoped he'd be. but cubs fans all know that kerry wood is one of the good guys. i'd never call him a bum or an underacheiver. guy is a pro's pro.
