Yankees, Sox getting friendly?

The concept is too jarring to comprehend. It boils the brain. The Yankees and the Red Sox on friendly terms, competing as always but as friends? Is the world about to end? From his days as a minority partner in the Yankees' ownership, John Henry, the principal owner of the Red Sox, knows Hank Steinbrenner, son of George. With Hank becoming a general partner of the Yankees and taking a greater role in the club's operation, is ddtente in their future?

Please no...after years of being number 2 the Sox are finally beginning to establish superiority over the Yankees (I mean that at this moment, heading into the future they look better).

waste of time. the yanks and sox will never be friendly

All of the current Red Sox Execs were once Yankee minority shareholders, so when they blast the Yankees as an "Evil Empire" it makes us all laugh. Those guys made some nice gains off of the "Evil Empire."

Being a part owner of the Red Sox sure beats the Marlins and their 400 fans.

I am so freaking tired.
hard to believe that a game against the Triple A rockies could be so draining.
So, the sox and yanks ownership and management getting friendly. Behind the scenes there have been some items that never seem to make the sports pages. Is anyone aware that George contributes a big ($100+K) check to the Jimmy Fund radio telethon every year? The fact is these are rich powerful men, who happen to own two premier sports franchises, they take it seriously, of course, but they interact in many ways, owners meetings, socially, politically, etc. We're fans, we don't write big checks to each others favorite charities, but if anyone is interested, the PK foundation would be glad to accept your donation. The goal of the PK foundation is to send a deserving family to as many Red Sox and Patriots games as possible. The ultimate goal is to get this deserving family seasons tickets, hopefully close to the owners seats in Fenway and the 50 yard line at the razor.
need more coffee...delusions taking hold...

Maybe the RSox & the Yankees will collude to keep the price down for A-Fraud all to spite Scott Boras who is trying to show how he is the super-agent as he has always has. But, that would be awesome for them to do that b/c if ARod doesn't go to the NYY or Boston the only other AL choices would probably only be Texas or LAA. NYY & Boston wouldn't have to worry much about ARod in the playoffs only if he went to LAA & he would choke it up out there for those guys as he always has.

Now that I'm fully awake, I must comment on the idiot that is Joe Buck. His spiel on Tek being the sergeant major of the Sox. First, he got the rank wrong, the highest enlisted rank is Command Sergeant Major, and the crack(head) research team at Faux Sports got the insignia of a first sergeant on the graphic. Another fine job by Joe and team. I'm going to mute the game tonight and put on some Wagner and Beethoven's 9th.
I'm puuling for a sweep so I don't have to endure these morons anymore. How long is Fox's contract with MLB?

That was Tim's spiel and now you made me break my vow to post today, because Fannation gives us SOS everyday.

That should be NOT to post.

Yankees and Red Sox ... friendly?

More likely:

Mountains falling into the sea...Dogs lying down with cats...the ozone vanishing over night...etc., etc., etc.

Satan just called. He just put the finishing touches on a killer igloo...

Detente? Between the Red Sox and Yanks? Only if they play in different conferences, or if they let two teams win the World Series in the same year.

They're directly competing against each other in a winner-take-all setting for the same thing: a championship. There's a long-standing animosity between the two cities. Fans don't respect players for willingly switching to "the dark side." Detente isn't a possibility.

The players on the two teams get along more than they did in previous decades, though. I think both teams respect each other.
