Will Yankees turn to King Felix?

09:33 AM ET 12.19 | Mariners officials have stated they will not trade Felix Hernandez. But I think the Yankees should tell the Mariners that they would do the baseball equivalent of the Herschel Walker deal for Hernandez. From the Cliff Lee talks, the Yankees know Seattle likes Jesus Montero, Ivan Nova, Eduardo Nunez and David Adams, whose injured ankle helped scuttle the July trade for Lee.

Draft choices in the MLB mean nothing. So, the Walker reference doesn't make sense.

No way the **** are getting Felix.

They lost on Lee.

They're an aging team and Boston is killing them in free agency.

Didn't the Mariners just re-sign him to a huge extension? They had a chance to trade him last year for even more value....why sign him to an extension and then trade him the next year? Unless the Yankees are willing to give up an all-star position player like Cano (and they aren't) then the King is going nowhere

Since Seattle or any team in the AL West, can win the division with 90 wins, I would be shocked if Felix is traded.

Not gonna happen

If I was the Mariners, any package for Feilx would start with Cano & Hughes..................

Yeah, but he's signed long term. So is Carmona for that matter. I don't think either one will be traded. I think they're just rumors dreamed up by writers who are trying to placate panicking Yankees fans.

Yep. Yankee fans aren't used to getting shut out in free agent sweepstakes.

As a Cubs fan, I'm all for the Yankees taking Zambrano. I'd even drive him out to New York myself if that's what it took. Having the roster flexibility that his salary would provide for next year's FA class is CRUCIAL to the Cubs, especially now since the Brewers brought in Greinke.

True, but now that the Yankees laid an egg on Lee and Greinke, it pretty much means the NY Post is going to throw anything and everything up against the wall to see if it sticks. I think the Yankees are pretty much stuck with what they have at this point.

Can you imagine what it would cost to get a reigning Cy Young winner, who is very young & signed for four more years away from Seattle? As I think about it, this thread might be the silliest thread I've ever read.
