Denver heeding fans: Orton out, Tebow in?

08:03 AM ET 12.20 | A poll out of Denver finds most fans pleased with their rookie QB's debut, and he may be ready for more. To be clear, Tim Tebow played in the game Sunday because the Broncos' usual starting quarterback, Kyle Orton, was out with battered ribs. "I tried to work through it all week," Orton said. "It just never came around. I should be ready this week." Healthy or not, though, Orton is not likely to start the final two games at home. With Broncos fans hungry for first-round rookie Tebow to play, and the team playing its final two games at Invesco Field at Mile High, the plan is for Tebow to start next week against Houston and Jan. 2 against San Diego.

FN...You need a new Tebow pic. that one makes him look ****. he almost looks like he has a fart stuck, and he's trying real hard to push it out.

December 20, 2010  08:12 AM ET

He did play very well for his first game. Definitely give him the position the rest of the season to see how he does.

Tebow is better than Orton. So the answer is......

December 20, 2010  08:15 AM ET

Well, they've gotten rid of a first round draft pick quarterback before. . .

It all depends on what their new coach wants to do. I'm glad that Tebow played well. I really want to see him succeed. However, how long can his body take the beating that a running quarterback regularly is a victim of?

Yeah. This team is just like all of us at work. Come in, hang out, do a half-**** job and wait for the year to be over.

Very average game for a QB. Tebow hasn't played much so the defense doesn't know what to expect. The more he plays the better the defense will do because they know what to expect. I still think Orton can get the job done but the Denver defense has to improve. No team in the NFL is going to have a winning record when the D gives up 30 points a game. Not to metion the fact that Orton has been sacked 39 times. It takes Manning 3 years to be sacked that many times.

I'm actually going to the Bronco game this weekend just because Tim will (and he will) be starting. I want to experience that buzz in a stadium that is very rare (especially here in Denver the last couple of years). That crowd is going to go nuts when he's introduced. There have been a lot of no-shows this year here. Not going to be too many this Sunday.

Good for you!!! It's fun when the season ticket holders and bandwagon riders get out of the way and "fans" can go. Sucks that the team isn't good but you never know what could happen.

Enjoy!

Some might also say that the more he plays, the more he will improve. I guess we'll just have to wait for it to actually happen before making up our minds one way or the other, huh?
