Crist scoffs at notion of leaving ND

08:26 AM ET 12.20 | At some point, Dayne Crist just had to respond. The rumors had too much volume to them, too much persistence, too much of a pulse not to escalate into something with a life of its own. For everyone seemingly except Dayne Crist, that is. Crist took the cybersquawking head on, addressing his rehab from his second knee surgery in two years, his fit as a spread offense quarterback and, especially, the innuendo that he was supposedly shopping for a new school. "There's so much negativity," he said of the rumblings that he is anything less than completely dedicated to battling his way to the top of the depth chart at Notre Dame once his rehab is complete. "I don't know where it comes from."

I've been wondering what all the FN crazies really are. Now I know. We are "cybersquawkers" or such. That's okay, I've been called worse. But we are being attacked head on! Head for the hills boys.

I'm just a ND hater, according to their fans!

He said he wants his ND degree, which is very respectable. But if I was a betting man, I'd put my money on either Hendrix or Golson to be the starter next spring.

I think Golson will be redshirted. It's the option that makes the most sense given Notre Dame's absurd Quarterback depth this coming season.

From what I've heard about Hendrix, Kelly can't wait to unleash the kid. So you may be more right than you know about Hendrix.

Paparocks, even when none of us say anything directly to you, you come on here and immediately fire verbal shots at Notre Dame. So if you're not a hater, what are you? An instigator? A bully? A jerk? pick one that fits.

These colors don't run!

Especially from T&R.

Wasn't Crist a 5 star recruit, 3rd best Qb and 25th best overall recruit in 2008. Coach Kelly says Dayne is the first one to show up and the last to leave at every meeting, he wants his job back, i say give it to him, but keep the backups well in tune, Crist does have a glass jaw.

I have to say this is a great problem to have for a change. When Clausen or Quinn were under center, I was constantly worried that we were one injury away from losing all hope. If Clausen had gotten injured back in '07, would Notre Dame have even won a single game? Would we have gotten to .500 in 2008-09 without Clausen? At least we know for sure that if Crist goes down again the Irish season isn't blown completely off the tracks.

...But you are. You show up to threads with nothing but vitriol and negativity. I don't think you've brought more than 1-2 constructive posts to an ND thread in 2 years...Just read the kind of stuff you post, it doesn't contribute anything but letting us all know of the millionth time that you think ND sucks and you hate them.

Oh, boy!!

Yes, remember the Purdue game, we had to put Jimmy back in with a bad case of turf toe and he marched it down field then hit Rudolph in the end zone with just seconds left for the win, now Clausen had an Iron jaw.
And yes it is great that 18 year old Tommy Rees got all that playing time, he looks very promising.

I also worry that Crist will never be able to perform the read option with any confidence. We don't NEED a burner back there(see Ben Mauk and Tony Pike) but we need a QB who will tuck the ball on a zone read and run for 5-10 yards. Even if the QB tucks it and only gains 1-2yds, it still is an essential wrinkle to Brian Kelly's offense that keeps the Linebackers honest

Dayne tucked and ran for 6 a couple of times, well I for one am very glad he is still with us.

"Vitriol and negativity" Unfortunately, that sounds like most Americans nowadays. No more optimism. Everything is horrible according to many. I call it stinking thinking!

We have "scoffing" "vitriol" and "negativity" all on the same thread. I'm having English Lit flashbacks here.

You didn't allow for an "all of the above" selection.
