Will Vikings deal for McNabb?
Posted: Monday October 29, 2007 06:51AM ET
Vikings coach Brad Childress, in dire need of a QB, was Donovan McNabb's offensive coordinator and QB coach before coming to Minnesota. If Childress is back next year, as expected, it would make sense to trade with pal Andy Reid, the Eagles' coach, for the established McNabb, 30, who probably could use a change of scenery. A trade, which probably would cost the Vikings a second-round draft pick, makes more sense than drafting another QB in April and waiting two years for him to develop.

Report Offensive CommentPhilly would be crazy to do this, but in a way I hope they do so they can see how valuable McNabb was for the franchise. Good luck with Kolb, I predict if this deal gets done Philly will be the like the Dolphins next year!

Report Offensive CommentI don't think there's a way in hell that the Eagles trade McNabb for a 2nd. They might for multiple picks, including a future 1st, but a single pick for McNabb? Not bloody likely.
This sounds like one of those Eskin rumors in Philly.

Report Offensive CommentI also hope that they trade McNabb. I'd love to see those stupid Philly fans faces next year when they barely win 1 game without the man. They are so quick to throw somebody under the bus when this man was THE franchise since they drafted him...

Report Offensive CommentMcNabb has been Great for so many years. He has whooped my Cowboys so many times. The Eagles have not put hardly any weapons out there for him to work with.
I hope McNabb gets traded, so all the Philly fans will understand how good he really is. The Cowboys will CRUSH Philly without McNabb. I have always held my breathe when we played Philly, not anymore!

Report Offensive CommentMcNabb has been nothing but good for the franchise, and the fans have been nothing but harsh on him. Its been a rough go for a guy who has won a whole lot more games for the Eagles than he has lost. However, he is not looking too good (yes, I know he has little to work with, but his accuracy is still weak) and he is clearly alot less mobile than he used to be, but I still think this would be a bad move for the Eagles. Even if this is his worst year to date (which I think it is, so far) you gotta take into account the surgery he is coming off of, and how fast he came back from it. He could very easily have a bounce back year next year when he is 100%, and the Eagles will be in "re-building" mode, instead of waiting one more year and being in "transition" mode at the very worst. Kolb isn't ready to step in yet, so what have you got to lose keeping McNabb one more year?

Report Offensive Commentthats bullsh*t and a cheep shot. all anyone ever says is how we boo donovan. weve booed him 3 times when he was drafted, which was really booing the eagles, in i think 2002 or 03 actually, and this year a little bit. by our standards thats excellent to be booed three times. i mean people say that the only person they ever remember never gettin booed is dr. j. and your bein a hypocrite u say hes only been good (which is true) but then u say that he has bad accuracy, even though he at one time held the record for most completed passes in a row
eaglesalltheway07 | 10/29/07, 08:11 AM
Report Offensive Commentbtwi meant that we booed him when he was drafted, and then in 2002 or 03 just to make that clearer
eaglesalltheway07 | 10/29/07, 08:12 AM
Report Offensive CommentIf the eagles are serious, then they should shop him around more, a second rounder is not much in return. I am sure there are a lot of teams who would offer more. the eagles did well last year without him, which makes me think they would be no worse off without him if they had a passer who was accurate.
50yearfan | 10/29/07, 08:23 AM
Report Offensive CommentMcNabb should stay, but if they are going to trade him, they need to do it while he is still attractive to other teams. One wrong hit or twist, and they won't be able to get anything for him.

Report Offensive CommentThis newspaper article is nothing but journalistic speculation. These sportswriters can't correctly report the news so they have to create some. Total BS and these reporters should be banned for starting a fire and fanning the flames.

Report Offensive Commenteagles, would agree. a 2nd round pick seems way too low. so low that it could only be someone guessing and speculating
pw | 10/29/07, 08:54 AM
Report Offensive CommentYou don't trade your starting QB who has been to Pro Bowls for a 2nd rounder. In fact you generally don't trade him at all. Especially with no proven second option. This is BS.
Jazinho | 10/29/07, 08:58 AM
Report Offensive Commenti didn't realize that the Vikings were that bad....
BobBoston | 10/29/07, 08:59 AM
Report Offensive Commentwow... 50 chimming in with another brilliant thought... the eagles did well last year without him, which makes me think they would be no worse off without him... Im not even going to respond to that one... They had a pro-bowl back up last year... that might of had something to do with it and a healthy Westbrook... BW is their only other weapon now, and he has had very few games this year where he has been at full strength. They let Stallworth go, didnt persue Moss, made no major upgrades on defense, and wonder why they aren't winning?
jandssports | 10/29/07, 09:00 AM
Report Offensive CommentBest make a trade before this Sunday. The Dallas Defense won't leave him in very good shape.

Report Offensive CommentHey Bob,
Did your teams play this weekend? How' the tooth.
JustCallMeDaddy | 10/29/07, 09:05 AM
Report Offensive CommentDonovan already made it clear and Reid confirmed there will be trade talk during the season or off season. But we'll see. If he left Philly would have established their within a transistion stage to revamp the offense. The O-line has no issues and they have not long ago secured Westbrook probably for this remaining of his career.
