08:20 AM ET 12.21 | For Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, Marcell Dareus, Mark Barron and Dont'a Hightower, the NFL's cloudy labor situaton becomes that much more complicated. In light of the trouble, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban is altering his typical message to draft-eligible juniors. ... "This year is different. With the labor situation and the strike coming up, it could really affect how much a guy could develop this year if there is no mini-camp, there is no training camp. It will be much more difficult for guys to learn the system and make an impact." Depending on the draft projection, each of the five Alabama juniors could have a shot at being taken in the first half of the opening round in the April draft.

Well, Mark Barron is coming off a serious injury which required surgery. Most people pretty much know he isn't going because he won't be ready for the combines.

As far as what Coach Saban said, he's right. If there is any kind of a lockout, these players will be sitting around doing nothing, isnetad of in spring practices.

The labor issues could make this draft even more interesting for underclassman. From what I have read, the players will lose their amateur status, so there's no turning back. I just hope you don't have some good players lose their shot at the NFL because of this. I would think it would be hard for a 20-year old kid to stay motovated, keep learning, and stay in top shape w/o combines, camps, and all the other supervised workouts that comes w/ an NFL draft choice. Ought to be interesting to see how it plays out.

JK, do you feel that Barron is a little overrated? I know he's been hurt this season, but I've never been overly impressed with him. He's solid, but he doesn't come off as anything special to me.

My first thought was Jake Locker. He passes on a top ten projected draft pick last year to come back. Hurts his draft stock and now may be subject to lock out. Pretty tough break.

Sucks bad for Locker. Maybe he is going to play baseball while the lockout is going on.

Where is he rated? He's played pretty well, if you ask me. He has given up some big plays but he's a safety and those big plays have happened when he was in one on one coverage for whatever reason.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.....I think he has the most to lose. Sam Bradford flirted with fire coming back (and getting hurt), but he wasn't set back. I'm not sure Locker will be so lucky.

I bet there's of OL and DL guys that will miss the structure of NFL coaches and report a year later 30-50 lbs heavier and about 1/2 second slower.....just not a good situation for the rookies!

Awwww. Just a lock-out away from having to get a real job. Next thing you know, he'll be sitting in a cubicle posting on FN.
