08:25 AM ET 12.21 | Derek Dooley says he won't beg his assistants to stay at Tennessee, but, at this point, he doesn't believe he has to. UT defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox has emerged as the latest name tied to a search at Texas to fill the same position, but Dooley stressed multiple times after practice on Monday that his stable of coaches remains unchanged. And as usual, Wilcox was in Vols workout gear, a visor and on the field as the team began game preparation for the Music City Bowl. ... "It's a fluid industry, and it always is. But I don't anticipate any changes, and nobody on our staff has been offered a job," Dooley said.

Hey FJJ, what gives? I can't believe it's taking Mack this long to name coordinators. Is he being real careful or is he getting turned down? I know most of your recruiting class is complete, but some of them waffeld after Muschamp left. Don't ya need to get someone in to lock down the class?

You might want to update that picture SI.

Agreed - He's had an entire season in Vols gear. At least use Google!

Does Mack really want UT defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox as his DC? Wilcox's defense wasn't all that good this year. It gave up 447 total yards to Oregon, 434 to LSU, 402 to Georgia and 536 to Bama!

Well, at least there's a T on the helmet. :)

I don't think the press bothered with any coverage of UTk this year. This economy is tough....

<ducks rocks>

The OC may be a more important hire for UTx than the DC...IMO.

I don't really care, I just hope Budweiser doesn't hire a new DC, 56th put up about 1000 on them this year. :)

You should buy stock in them then 56th. Might get some of your investment back that way. As the father of only daughters and granddaughters, I've said many times that I wish I had bought stock in make-up, pantyhose and feminine hygiene product companies many years ago. I think the family added to the profit margins of those companies for years! Still adding to them.

OT, some players are just "uncoachable." Your wife's coaching skills may be fine. It could be the talent she has to work with that is questionable.

I credit OT's "misdirection play skills" on the way to the fridge to get his beverages. I often have to run a trick play to get to mine at the house.

Playing with fire if you ask me.Wilcox is at the top of the list but it is correct no one has been offered. (see above) although I think he knows who he wants. Same with OC. My guess is there's a big hiring party when it finally happens with coaches everywhere.Giles, Rucker, Applewhite, Kennedy and Tubbs have all been on the road visiting recruits to calm fears. They were in Arlington on Saturday for the state championship games to watch the recruits and talk with their parents. The only real concern is Westerman because he's OOS. Still solid UTx but just visited Auburn and will go to Oregon. Says they are working on a backup plan but still. For me the issue is the waiting and how it impacts recruits so MB needs to get something done and waiting until a couple weeks before signing day to announce seems crazy and risky.

The other problem is with the lack of a bowl, y'all are off of the national radar. I would think Mack would want to do something to show the program is moving in the right direction, or at least moving. If he waits long enough, some of his picks may have other jobs. HC jobs continue to open up.

That D is stout!! They only gave up 317 yds to UF.

I think if things keep going the direction they're going now, we'll have to have a coaches signing day before recruits signing day.
