Lakers falsely downplaying Heat game?

08:09 AM ET 12.24 | The Lakers went out of their way to dismiss Saturday's game as just another one on the schedule. So how does this resemble in any way how the Lakers viewed the 2010 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics? Easy. They went out of their way in downplaying any inevitably written storyline and masked their true feelings. ... Clearly, the Lakers actually felt otherwise about meeting Boston in the 2010 NBA Finals, with Bryant admitting afterwards, "I wanted it so bad." Clearly, the Lakers feel otherwise about the Miami game, with Gasol and Lamar Odom both acknowledging this game means a little something extra for the sole purpose that it'd feel genuinely satisfying putting a team in its place.

exactly! the heat have to prove they are a championship team in the making, the lakers have to prove they are still a championship team and the team to beat. how the hell do the lakers lose to a bucks team without brandon jennings?

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the lakers not give their best effort and lose this, I hope they win but Miami is clicking on all cylinders at the moment and Phil jacksons teams have a way of not playing up to their potential in the regular season and switching it to another lvl in the playoffs. It's the mo of any Jackson led team goin back to the bulls. People used to think they were big shots for beating the bulls or shaqs lakers in the regular season, only to watch them become monsters in the postseason. My lakers already have the look of a team waiting for the playoffs to begin and are not takin the regular season that seriously. They know what it takes to win in the playoffs though and that's all that matters

bro just like the c's the lakers are the elite with nothing to prove, this is just the league trying to make it something for both teams and its not.......similar to the way they tried to make the knicks vs boston a real huge game, when it was nothing to the celtics but meant something to the knicks so they could prove they could beat elite team.....

Ya I'm ready for the holidays and my panthers secured their number one pick last nite so the holidays are starting on the right foot :) I hope ur Xmas goes well too, best of luck to Ur C's vs the magic, I'm one of the few that think the magic upgraded but won't be enough to take the celtics down. But ur on point, everyone is making a big deal about the lakers losing to weak teams and it's kinda funny because that's how the bulls and lakers have always functioned in the regular season, they only play at half speed until the playoffs and then they switch gears. Nothing to worry bout when the lakers lose regular season games, I think Phil likes to see the other teams best cards without revealing his, always has and always will.

i like the magic trade but dont think its enough to beat the celtics in a seven game series.....to much jump shooting and not enough defense...
the lakers always coast , its just how they work everyone talking other wise really must not know them very well
