08:18 AM ET 12.24 | While even the source of the report downplayed it afterward, it does make for interesting grist for the holiday mill. Manny Ramirez in pinstripes? Say it ain't so! ... Hey, New York would like a right-handed-hitting outfielder, and Ramirez qualifies there, so Yankees execs were merely doing their due diligence in talking amongst themselves about the enigmatic slugger.

Sure...go ahead. I bet he'll behave. For half a season.

This now in... Boy George is in negotiations with Cashman for a spot on the Yankee starting rotation.

Manny playing in pinstripes? I'll pay to watch that meltdown.

December 24, 2010  08:29 AM ET

wow .. this is a long drop from thinking they had Cliff Lee in their back pocket.

First Damon now Manny. A lefty and a righty. They could do better but for cheap and bench strength? Maybe. These players would not be a distraction, at this time in their careers, especially Manny. (As players in the background.) Why not. Yankees are always looking at the market and what's available and what can improve the team. They do need a couple of starters, lefty and righty type to give them a couple of hundred more innings or so between the two.

How exactly does Manny qualify as an outfielder? He has no chance of covering that left field in Yankee stadium. If he ends up on the Yanks thats it for me rooting for them. A Rod is bad enough but at least he never quit on his team or attacked an elderly man.

Happy Holidays to you as well. It's been chilly and snook have been slow. Had a very good month this past October. Action all over the place, birds dropping bait fish plentiful, it was fun, snook, jack, etc. but since the cold not so good.
