09:15 AM ET 12.26 | The Broncos have been doing their homework on hiring a general manager. Believed to be in their bullpen are Chargers senior executive Randy Mueller, CBS information man Charley Casserly, former Broncos general manager Ted Sundquist, Ravens player personnel director Eric DeCosta, Colts player personnel director Tom Telesco and Vikings player personnel director George Paton. It is believed the Broncos' first choice is to hire someone with general managing experience. If John Elway is part of the equation, however, the team is going to limit its potential choices.

It's going to be another rough couple years in Denver.

It is very important to hire a quality GM. Otherwise, you get someone who keeps a kicker that can't make an extra point at the end of a game.

Not to mention bone-headed running backs that can't resist the urge to prance and preen with their helmet off after scoring a touchdown...

I hear Matt Millen is available. Broncos could use a couple new receivers. Or six.

True, but you just moved up three slots in the draft.

Why should the team limit their search because of Elway? They were probably just going to hire another Belichick assistant who isn't going to pan out anyway.

And Jerry will trade the pick for two 2's and a future 3.

When he doinked that kicked I actually said, aloud, "Ooooh no, Otis just had a stroke." My wife thinks it's an old football expression or something.

Look at this way, fellas: next year they have to get a coach who is totally outside the Cowboys current coaching staff to instill some fundamentals and discipline. You already have a lot of talent and a high draft pick. Things will get better.
