08:11 AM ET 12.27 | Avery Johnson isn't so keen on contraction, and he made his point by adding a dig at LeBron James' Big Three. Johnson did take exception to James' belief that the league would be better off without the Nets and Timberwolves. "I disagree," Johnson said Sunday. "Maybe the league would be better if we didn't have three stars on one team." Speaking to the media prior to Miami's game Thursday against the Phoenix Suns, James said the NBA was better in the 1980s when "three or four superstars were on one team." He singled out perennial bottom-feeders New Jersey and Minnesota as candidates for contraction.

I totally agree with Johnson but with all due respect Miami has only two stars not three because Bosh is nothing close to a franchise player.

Im sure he just thought really hard and clinched his fist that he wanted 15-20 pounds of more muscle and it didnt pop on him so he gave up....Similar to how he gave up in Toronto....

I'm going to have to disagree with Avery on this one. Sometimes there are more than 3 stars on the same team. Heck even most of the championship teams have at least 5 stars on them. Take the Lakers for example. At the end of the day, every one knows the 5 starters including Fisher LOL. But like I said before, no way is the NBA gong to eliminate teams. They will loose too much money. Now move a team to a new market, thats different.

Only problem is Phil wouldn't pay that much to get Bosh.... he's not an elite player to be making the same money Wade makes.

Well not really being a hypocrite since they dont already have 1 or 2 "super" stars on that team....

I didn't even know Phil makes decisions like that! He needs to run the Cavs or something. Sensing GM is in his future!

That might be true, those playeres are the ones people will talk about because they keep winning championships.

No...Im sorry my friends and i dont sit around and talk about Fisher...Unless its this statement "Lord Fisher is slow and just got **** the dribble AGAIN!!!!"
There is a difference from being a role player on a winning team and a "SUPER" star....
