08:12 AM ET 12.27 | With some faith in the idea that his team will come around, Phil Jackson is asking for forgiveness. "Just be patient with us," Jackson said. Were those words directed at the media or at the impatient Lakers Nation? Jackson delivered those words after a thorough beat-down by the Miami Heat on Christmas. His team has lost consecutive games, both by double-digits, both in a humbling fashion They were games the Lakers were expected to win. "Just be patient with us," Jackson said. "We'll get it back in order. We'll be fine. We'll measure this season and come out where we want to be, I think, at the end."

The season is young and there should be no panicThat being said......I have one question.... is that guy in the picture ever going to play?- I dont mean 17-22 minutes.....I mean 35 + minutes and be a force

Yes...Yes he will play 35+ minutes a game...But the problem is is that it will have to be over to games!!!

Dang spammers got here first again! Can't really knock a 2 time champion for having a lethargic regular season. These guys are playing 2/3 of the year every year so they have to have a little down time in the regular season. It's not the way Michael Jordan would have done it but if they keep winning rings you can't knock them.

I dunno man. Habit is second nature. If you keep playing without intensity it'll be the team's DNA as you just can't flip a switch and be something else overnight. Case in point before the Miami game Lakers run their mouths talking how they had a good practice and ready to handle the Hated heat yet when the lights came on it was the same Lakers that lost to Milwaukee. Patience is not what they need here.. Kobe needs to get them ready to outplay opponents every night. He's the leader so it's on him to change the team's work ethic and approah to game. Now if anybody thought Kobe is better than Jordan there you have it - MJ's teams never slip... they always come correct to whoop ass...

Must be LOVELY IN LAKER LAND.....LOL

It's not lovely but also not unexpected. The loss to Milwaukee cannot be excused but the beating by Miami was predictable. I will go out on a limb and say that the Lakers will lose to SA tomorrow.

The Lakers look out of sync and that will take time to correct.

It is beautiful day here, sun is out and is warm. LOL

Nah, Lakers is fine. The season starts in April. The seeded for the playoffs is a nice thing for the HCA but not essential. Celtics was 4th last season and went all the way the to the finals. Cavs were the best and guess what?
If you had to choose between playing their best in December or April which one would you choose?

For me it's as beautiful as ever in LA,.. Understanding that the Title defense happens in the post season,. the Lakers are doing what they should do,..

Conserve and hold their cards close to the chest.

So I don't expect them to push through head first what could be such a grueling season {B2B Defense} with reckless abandonment, risking injury and emptying the tank before they reach sight of the finish line,.. they are too wise for that.

They should wait until just the right time when the rest of the league is torn down from their head butting in the woods to pull ahead and gain the home court,..

This is a wisdom that few teams or fans for that matter can fathom {because they have never experienced it ;-} ~!
