Mizzou DE annoyed by NFL reports

08:24 AM ET 12.27 | Defensive end Aldon Smith didn't rule out leaving Missouri for the NFL, but did dispute a report that he has made a decision. [Smith] emphatically squashed a report that he's already decided to enter the 2011 NFL draft. Without citing any sources, a post on the Atlanta Falcons' website reported Friday that Smith had decided to enter the draft and is working on selecting an agent. "That's completely untrue," Smith said Sunday at the Camelback Inn, the media headquarters for Tuesday's Insight Bowl against Iowa. "Somebody brought that to my attention, and I've never said anything like that." Smith, a redshirt sophomore, called the unfounded speculation "annoying."

In the world we live in today, somebody could say something off-hand to somebody else and if it ends up on the internet, it'll end up in some media-member's hands by the end of the day and it blows up into "credible sources." We live in a "Scoop World" where everyone is trying to "scoop" everyone else and be the first to report something. Even if that means posting unfounded rumors. Nobody cares about their own credibility anymore.

Should not be to much of a change for them. They didn't become relevant in the Big 12 North till three schools made very bad coaching changes. After all it's only Mizzou. They have always sucked. Just sometimes more than others. After all they got beat by Iowa.
