08:12 AM ET 12.28 | There was a time, before their bye week, that the notion seemed impossible in Chicago. Before the season, few people would have been willing to bet that the Bears would finish with a .500 record or above. But here those same Bears sit with an 11-4 mark and all kinds of wonderful playoff possibilities in view. ... If you believe the Bears are lucky, don't say it derisively. There are no great teams in the NFC, but there are some good ones, including the one from Chicago. Would you rather have luck on your side or not? The Bears have had a great run of good health. None of their key players has been out for an extended period. Is that luck, too? Sure it is. Injuries are a way of life in the NFL.

it is to me. (take that black hat.)

After last nights game it's clear, there is no front runner in NFC & even the Bears could represent.

Based on the photo, I wouldn't get too excited.

After seeing the 2007-08 Giants, I can see any playoff team getting on a roll.

Here I was sticking up for the Bears and their fans at the start of the season. now I just want them to lose. (sorry gigi)

December 28, 2010  08:20 AM ET

True. Given the NFC this year anyone can take it. Afterall, if a sub-.500 team can make the playoffs in that conference anything is possible.

If the Bears can make the Super Bowl with Grossman at QB, then why not with Cutler???

At this point are we still waiting for the "real" Cutler to show up?

So I guess this season will get people out of Lovie's **** for a little while, right? I've never understood the hate for him anyways. He's a better coach than people give him credit for.

Never thought 8-8 would be good enough to win a division, but if the Seahawks get in with a 7-9 that would just be funny.

The coaches better remind the winning team they still have another game. 7-9 making the playoffs would make these guys heads explode. It's making mine hurt.

Either the Giants or Green Bay fans are going to be livid. Even the Tampa fans have a legitimate complaint.

The Packers will chew them up and spit them out like an old shoe. That Bear has no claws.
