08:30 AM ET 12.29 | Ron Zook still isn't sure what to make of his program. Asked to put Illinois' bounce-back season in perspective and assess his personal satisfaction, [Zook] requested a 48-hour response window. "Can I do that after tomorrow?" Zook asked Tuesday as his Illini were preparing to meet Baylor in Wednesday's Texas Bowl. Slugging back from two losing seasons to a 6-6 record and a bowl bid could be deemed a successful year for Illinois. Preferring to sum things up after the bowl game reflects how significant a victory would be for the team's reputation and the program's future considering Illinois has won just one bowl -- and played in only three -- in the last 10 seasons.

Question is what do FN posters think of his program?

Shouldn't the title be Illini losing first game of 2011?

Hey, I have been looking and looking, but I haven't found which bowl game USC is playing in this year. Is there something wrong with my TV Guide?

Stu, just giving you some **** this morning! Yeah, USC's bowl game was against ND and it didn't turn out good for the Trojans. They are going to come up with a new bowl game next year. It wll be called the "NCAA bowl game" and USC will be playing in that one!!! LOL.

It's all in good fun, OT. If it's any consolation, I hope your pro team is doing well this time of year.

Stu, do you know who my pro team is? I live in the Pacific Northwest and I'm not really a big Seahawk fan. Cue: I lived in Los Angeles when I was real young, I have followed them for years, even in the good and bad years.!

6-6 could be considered a successful year? Way to define down success Illinois.

Illinois football has not been consistently good since the days of Red Grange :) The Illini produce a good team every 5-6 years, then they disappear. Until the school commits to football and getting the best that the state produces, then it will always be a mediocre at best program with a few flashes of brilliance.

I'm not Stu, but I'll guess the Rams. Fearsome Foursome! Deacon Jones!
