Embarrassing loss will fuel Huskies in rematch

08:37 AM ET 12.30 | Washington had a 24-hour rule calling for the Huskies to forget a game after it passed. But once they learned they would play Nebraska again in the Holiday Bowl, the Huskies broke their own rule. That meant reviewing one of their most painful losses of this or any season -- the Cornhuskers' 56-21 whipping of UW in Seattle. Again and again. "We watched little clips of that every now and then because that really left a nasty taste in all of our mouths," said senior safety Nate Williams of the Sept. 18 loss, which tied the most points Washington has allowed at Husky Stadium. "That was a terrible feeling, to let a team come into your house and whip on you like that. So whenever we watch those clips and whenever we see that, it really kind of brings back that nasty taste and that's just more motivation for us."

Especially of a bad first episode! Got to be one of the worst bowl pairings...and there were a lot of those to chose from.

DC. I agree that this is a bad bowl match-up, but I have a gut felling (nothing I ate) that Washington will make a game of this. I'm thinking that Locker will have one last shot to showcase his talent (if he has any). Hell what does Washington have to lose? They are in a win win situation, where Nebraska has everything to lose. I'm taking the 14 points and Washington!!!

Damn, FJJ. You sound like Keith Jackson. Shows you are getting close to joining the old farts club.

Agree OT. If Pelini can get the COC excited about playing this game he needs to be commended. Tough task for him. I'd take the points and the dogs too.

Now I know, I'm taking Nebraska (-14)! :)

I'm a fan of Sarkisian, so I hope the dawgs win. Hopefully the huskers are going to be so happy to be out of the frozen mid-west they forget to show up until it's too late.

Don't think that'll be the case. I'm watching just to see what Pelini will do!

Don't blame you. It is always harder for a team to beat you twice in a year. But I still think it is one of the worst pairings ever since BYU won the championship against a 6-5 Mich team.

Hey, maybe UW will play better and it will be a more interesting game. Keep on the sunny side of life...

I'd like to see the Huskies D coach Mike Holt get into a heated argument with the Pelini brothers, now that would live'n things up for this rematch.
