08:01 AM ET 12.31 | The Bears have earned at least a home game at Soldier Field, but is it a hindrance? All NFL players are at least a little beat up physically this time of year, but Bears defenders say they need to be quick to execute their schemes effectively. "I don't know about the beat-up part, but the footing at Soldier Field has been horrible," Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher said Thursday at Halas Hall. "We've all seen that. You watch us on film. Our D-line slipped. It's hard. We're a fast team. I think when you get us on a (Soldier Field) surface like that, it kind of takes a little bit of our speed."

Maybe the opponent knows how to beat you at your game, like the Pats did.

That was a pretty bad beating there ! Bad footing had little to do with it, I think !!

Don't both teams have to play on the same field?

The players have a right to express if their field surface stinks. If they keep quiet about it nothing will be done about it

Worked out well for the Steelers kicker. LOL!

Urlacher's not the first to complain, either. A couple of years ago, Soldier Field placed fourth in a NFLPA poll regarding the worst surfaces in the league.

There isn't much he can do about it now.

So - what is the problem?

Maybe I'm a Dumb Dora, but Green Bay doesn't seem to have these turf issues.

You want some cheese to go with that whine, Urlacher?

Mabey they put more money, time and care into their playing field. There are a number of things that could contribute as to why some fields are in better condition than others

Cool - one more reason to hate Angelo!

I like this guy.

I hate it when that happens.

Actually, he gets a pass on this one. Soldier Field is owned by the Chicago Park District, and not operated by the Chicago Bears organization at all.

But there are so many other reasons to not be happy with Jerry Angelo...

An indescribable need to impede the progress of historic NFL franchises... they both need to find more suitable day jobs.
