Rees' last start at Notre Dame?

08:16 AM ET 12.31 | While Irish fans learn more about Tommy Rees, the Notre Dame quarterback knows he will take the team into the Sun Bowl. Less clear is what grasp Rees has on this team and his job. In some moments during a heady November, he looked the part of a galvanizing winner. In other moments, he looked like an 18-year-old merely holding a place. What we don't know is where all this is taking Rees. He may be the foundation around which Notre Dame rallies for the next three years. Or, with Dayne Crist returning from injury and talented freshman Andrew Hendrix entering the mix, he might never start another game at Notre Dame.

I think we all called this yesterday. IMO, this happens for two reasons. Washington wanted to be there, made adjustments from the first game and had fire in their eyes. Nebraska didn't want to be there, didn't do anything different and was totally uninspired.

One more thing, I've said for some time that the Big 12 just wasn't as good this year as they have been in the past. Think the bowls are proving it.

Finally, I expect Zero U to play poorly. It seems they get ready to play teams they view as tough (FSU, UTx, Okie Lite, Nebraska -all wins) and do not prepare properly for those they view as less difficult (Mizzou, Texas A & M - losses). Don't think they view UConn as difficult which could be a big mistake. Just my opinion though.

DC, good point. I was really impressed with Okie Lite in their bowl game and it's still hard for me to imagine that they were the fourth best team in the BIG12.

Guess I gave three reasons...can't count.

I'd say it's definately Crist's job to lose... but Rees has been pretty good this year and if he finds himself in a QB squeeze where he is the odd man out, well he's young enough to transfer.

Fourth best of a bunch of mediocrity this year. Okie Lite did play well but Arizona hasn't really done much since they beat Iowa. You follow the PAC 10. Didn't Arizona stumble in down the stretch?

You, sir, are the only one.

Or are you referring to missing the opportunity to tell "fat" jokes?

No way. It's an elite D that doesn't need any help from former QB's.

Sarcasm off the chart...you are sounding like a Domer FJJ!

Spot on DC. Spot on.B12 su<ks and their bowl record reflects it. I thought they might go 5-3 at best but figured 4-4. For that to happen they will have to win out and aggy aint beating LUS.

Can't see aggy winning either. Their only hope is LUS isn't ready to play. May not be a rout if the LUS offense is as usual but I still see it as better than aggy's offense.

I actually think Crist is the odd man out this Spring because of his history of serious knee injuries and the fact he's the only Quarterback on campus who was not originally recruited for the Spread System. Kelly is saying all the right things of course, and he'll give Crist his fair shake since he's a "competition" coach, but everything I've heard about Hendrix tells me that he is going to be the front-runner after the Spring Game.

Why the heck did this post as a response??

DC, yes Arizona stumbled big time down the stretch.
