Bolts may set unfortunate team record

08:39 AM ET 12.31 | Billy Latsko is on the verge of becoming an interesting, if somewhat dubious, footnote to San Diego's season. If [Latsko] is the Chargers No. 1 fullback Sunday in Denver, and if he plays at all he will bring the number of players used by the team this season to a record-tying 74. The Chargers could yet make a move to bolster their injury-depleted linebacker corps. They will almost certainly make another roster move this week to bring up practice squad running back Curtis Brinkley. Latsko, spent part of 2008 and all of 2009 on the Chargers practice squad and was on the 53-man roster the final 12 weeks of the 2008 season, was released by the Chargers in September.

What a waste of talent!

True... you would think with 74 players they would have found SOMEONE to get them into the playoffs.

on the other hand a team can totally suck with a lot less players. oh...they've already done that. this must be "piling on".

Imagine how bad they really could be if they didn't have Rivers?

Sad. They definitely have the talent.

No wonder they beat us! They was play with 70-something different players, while we barely had 40!!!

Forget that. How can a team that is Top 10 in BOTH offense and defense end their season hanging around .500???

proof that numbers do lie!

You can bet good money that they will do this. No team is better at making excuses for why they don't win than San Diego, so you can be absolutely sure they will activate at least one new player so they can say "But look, we had soooo many injuries. Boo hoo for us." But it will only be for that reason, not because they actually need the new player instead of the others available.

How does Norv Turner still have a job?

It takes a very special coach to achieve that. The entire AFC West is thrilled to hear that the Norv and A.J. show will be coming back next year.

This team isn't a whole lot different than the team they have had the last few years. The only difference is that finally another couple of teams have stepped up in their division and gave them a little competition. They went into the playoffs in 2008 with an 8 and 8 record. No one was yapping then about changing the rules/format of the playoffs. New England was 11-5 that season and it seemed everyone was just saying that is the way it is!!!

This team opened the season with a 2-5 record before a bunch of injuries. It would appear the replacements did better. Their problems go way deeper than a run of bad luck. Maybe AJ is not the genius some think he is.

Helping to reduce the unemployment rate.

they need to realign the divisions again so that teams like this dont get confused for division champs any longer.

too many kick returns for TDs, blocked punts, and of course poor defense when it really mattered on key 4th quarter needed stops....adds up to about .500

Isn't it great that message boards allow people that don't have even the most basic understanding of football a chance to play analyst?

Isn't it wonderful that the internet allows people that lack even the most basic understanding of the game of football a place to voice uneducated opinion?
The joy of Patriot fans!
