Keselowski gets brewery history lesson

10:54 AM ET 01.02 | You're never too old to learn and for 26-year-old Nationwide Series champion Brad Keselowski, there was plenty he needed to know before starting the 2011 NASCAR Season promoting a new sponsor in the Sprint Cup Series for his No. 2 Penske Racing team. How about "Beer 101"? It's hard to imagine many young people passing up a chance to pass - or fail - that class. Keselowski recently took a trip to the MillerCoors brewery in Milwaukee to learn the history of Miller Lite and its history of sponsorship in NASCAR. He charged into beer fundamentals with Miller brewmaster Manny Manuele. There he learned the complex brewing process that produces the great taste of Miller Lite.

It's a miracle, a new story. WOW Keselowski has stepped on a lot of toes in the last few years and he is my kind of driver. If he can go faster than you, get out of his way. Of course he has to watch a few drivers, like for instance Hamlin, Kyle Busch and most of all Carl Edwards. Hamlin put a hurt on Kes at Homestead at the end of 2009. He was constantly tangling with Kyle and of course Edwards showed the kid where the bears poop in the buckwheat. He has to improve as this past year he was a 20th place or worse most of the year. That's not too bad, he was in famous company in the mid 20's. I think he will do much better this year, no doubt he can drive a race car.

I have to say that I expected more out of Keselowski last season. He seemed to have all the skills needed to do fairly well in Cup. It didn't work out that way. He ended up 25th in the year end standings and Joooonya even beat him by 2 or 3 spots. Kes only had 2 Top 10's all year and Jooonya beat him with 8 Top 10's. His Nationwide races seemed to point to a better performance in the big league but it didn't happen. Granted, it's an accomplishment to even make the top tier and a finish of 25th for the year is nothing to cry about. Speaking of Top 10's, my guy Kyle had 18 of them. LOL I truly think he will improve in 2011 but I don't see him making the Chase. Miller tastes like weasel peepee.

Ahhhh you fellows haven't had beer until you have Stegmaier gold beer, it's made in P.A. and is one god awful good beer. Most of us here drink that or Genesee beer, from Rochester NY, also a great brew.

BEER BEER BEER; that was a great college course. As a young guy I can remember Tadcaster Brewery in my home town. They closed and Dugan's Beer took over. This stuff was a godsend for us young guys, 3 quarts for a dollar. Now, you know that was good beer, LOL. The brewery was across the street from the Gas Company. What a horrible smell and I think it drifted into the beer. Dugan's had a horrible taste but it was affordable and if you got drunk on that stuff, you stayed close to the porcelain throne the next day. When we got jobs, the beer appetite changed and we moved up to Knickerbocker, Carling's Black Label or Narragansett. We were in the big league then. LOL
