08:09 AM ET 01.03 | Marvin Lewis may be done in Cinci, which may be a good thing for everyone involved. Never forget this: The Bengals do not belong to Lewis or you or me or the city or anyone but "The Family." This will not change. As for Sunday's game, the Bengals played just well enough to lose it. ... Afterward, Marvin Lewis seemed relieved. "Where I am right now is a different point than where I was eight years ago," he decided. No need to look back. He'd see ownership there, as ever, running the unfortunate show.

His QB sure didn't help his cause over the past 8 years.

They had high hopes this season but could not capitalize on it.

Wouldn't you? That front office is a mess.

January 3, 2011  08:25 AM ET

Actually no.... I'd be glad to coach there.

Monetarily, I would probably coach there, too. But it has to be a pain having to coach many of the characters forced on you and get the blunt of the blame when it obviously does not work out.

No kidding. It's no coincidence that the consistent winners in the NFL are completely absent of that nonsense.

It's like they give him a cast year after year designed for failure....

T.O. goes down and they won every game except for yesterday, which they could have won.

I'd coach there in a heartbeat. Few million a year, guaranteed contract. You betcha

January 3, 2011  09:27 AM ET

Never associated the terms "Bengals" and "Lucky" before...

Probably won't again.

January 3, 2011  09:27 AM ET

Ownership is a mess they are so out of date with their facilities. I think Marivn Lewis would make a good college coach
