08:12 AM ET 01.03 | Doc Rivers told reporters after the Celtics' win over Toronto that Paul Pierce sprained his right ankle late in Sunday's game. After Glen Davis intercepted a pass near midcourt, he fed Pierce going the other way for a one-handed jam with 1:34 to play. Pierce appeared to roll his right ankle a bit as he landed and hobbled up the court, calling for a timeout once the Celtics regained possession. He left the game and soon limped to the locker room. ... The Celtics got Rajon Rondo back from a severe left ankle sprain Sunday. Boston's point guard missed seven games due to the injury, but Pierce's did not appear anywhere near as serious.

It don't sound too bad......that being said.....Doc needs to start limiting their old stars minutes or these small nagging inguries ad up and linger.

Its a little to early for that.....after the all star break is when he will start cutting down

ankle sprains normally aren't a big deal but you have to be carful what you choose to believe when it comes to injury reports. I remember two years ago when KG hurt his knee the Celtic's said he would be back before the playoffs and then it was by the playoffs... and it ended up being the next year before he finally got back on the court.

Agreed. I remember the same kind of rosy reports with other teams only to see their star actually be done for the season. (Grant Hill, Orlando).I think they put a happy face on things so they can keep selling tickets as long as possible.

right, and Noah just had a jammed thumb.

Yuppp... it's an ankle sprain. Those heal quickly. If it was a knee or shoulder then there's reason to worry. Pierce will be back. He's got too much hatred against Miami and Lakers to sit out too long even though it like Lakers are self-destructing.
