Perkins: Healthy Celts can't be beat

08:11 AM ET 01.04 | Despite what could have been a calamitous parade of players to the bench due to injury -- and one, Kendrick Perkins, who hasn't yet hit the lineup -- the Celtics have somehow managed to cling to the Eastern Conference's best record. This is why Perkins believes they will win this season's championship if they're all healthy for the playoffs. "In seven games I don't think we can be beat by any team," he said. "Too deep. Too much experience. Too many hard-working guys. Too many guys that have a chip on their shoulder."

QUOTE(#4):

I agree for the most part, though they are aging by the day...But the 'if' healthy is more than an assumption you can count onthey're old and the likelihood of their staring 5 being totally healthy come june, IMO, is small

i cant disagree with that ...because that time of the year no team is ever completely healthy...but if they avoid major injuries they will be ok......

QUOTE(#5):

You make a great point, and lets not forget that come playoff time, few, if any teams are completely healthy.

Bingo!!!!!! thats on point last playoffs KG played on one leg and pierce was still injured but they played through it...barring MAJOR INJURY they can win.....

This is totally uncalled for. Of course every team, player, coach, GM believes when healthy they can change water into wine. Injuries are part of the game just ask Portland....

Not all teams, if minnesota said if healthy were unstoppable well that would just be stupid.

QUOTE(#11):

Lol.......one leg.......what is he paul pierce? He wasnt fully healthy, obviously, but he was pretty close. But I hear you I do though think that they are considerably older than their eastern challengers and they likely will be the #2 or 3 sed which means they will have to play two tough series in the east, and if those teams can push the pace, they might be worn downNot saying they aren't the favorites.......but I can see them going down

KG wasnt healthy at all......he had no lift and was just half of himself .....this year he has been what he was previously

if they are a 2 or 3 seed they will play the weak teams at the bottom of the conference...which is great for them.....

also the game slow down in the playoffs ...you cant push the pace if the defense is set right...which is what got them to the finals last year....i believe in the end DEFENSE will be the key to it all

doubt if you like...

Tell me something I don't know. Same thing about the Lakers too. Now the Heat, even healthy, Im not sure about.

QUOTE(#18):

It's not about how old the Celtics are. It's not about how well the Celtics play. All of this talk can be condensed into 1 name.Kevin Garnett. The fate of the Celtics rises and falls on this man's health.

he has some part but i think all four are need to avoid major injury for us to win...if rondo goes down the team is doomed

QUOTE(#20):

Rondo has been down but the team keeps rolling. I think the Celtics can withstand the loss of any one guy except KG. He is the key.

false gold.....nate wasnt good at the starting point guard, he cant lead a team, they even shortened the play book for him..the offense was stagnant, the big three had to work to hard to get their shots...nate was the reason we lost on christmas day...his defense at the end of the game on nelson ......so without rondo we dont win especially in the playoffs in a half court set

QUOTE(#23):

Without KG you don't win either. KG is the heart and soul of that team. Without Rondo you guys have a chance. Without KG it's all over.

without the big 4 we dont win...they all are needed.....rondo was the key to their run in the playoffs.....Robinson is not going to win us a title......he is great for our second unit ...but he wont work in the playoffs......rondo's play alone give the big 3 3-4 uncontested shots a game..they dont get that with nate, they have to work to hard to get their shots, the offense looks like crap and wont win...so i stand by the fact that the entire big 4 have to be on the floor without either one they are doomed....you dont get the true value of rondo he wasnt needed as much when the team first got put together but right now he is HUGE
